I grew up on a ranch in the country near Anson, Texas, not far from Abilene. Growing up in "the sticks" was an adventure, and it helped shape my early life. I graduated Valedictorian of my high school in 1995 and went to Texas A&M University where I graduated in 1999 in the top 10% of my class with a B.B.A. in Accounting. After graduation with honors from A&M, I went straight to law school at Texas Tech University School of Law on a full scholarship. I finished law school in the top 10% of my class with a Juris Doctorate (J.D) in law. After law school, I moved back to Abilene and went to work for a local firm.After working as an associate at a law firm for a year, I almost quit being a lawyer for good. I decided to quit my job at the firm and took off on an adventure, backpacking Europe for three (3) months. When I got back with a new perspective on life, I decided to start my own law practice and be my own boss. I haven't looked back since. For the last 20 years, I have fought for people who need an experienced, aggressive lawyer to stand up for their rights when injured, charged with a crime, or confronted with a divorce or custody battle. I began my legal career in 1992, as an insurance defense litigator. After three years of defending individuals and companies in lawsuits involving everything from a vehicle accident with exploding fuel tankers to toxic exposure in the construction of nuclear power plants, I switched gears to work with the largest bankruptcy law firm in San Antonio. During this period, I became one of the youngest board certified attorneys in consumer bankruptcy.I moved to Abilene in 1999, when he was hired to operate and manage the local office of Monte J. White & Associates. Subsequently, I opened my own firm, the Law Offices of Weir & Willhelm, P.C., with the counsel of Woody Weir to expand my practice and represent my clients, who had come to appreciate and trust me, with other legal issues.  For the past twenty seven years, I have represented numerous clients in various legal matters from civil, criminal, disability, probate and other civil matters to bankruptcy and debt reorganization.Presently, I own and operate the Willhelm Law Firm, and I am licensed in state and federal courts as well as the US Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of the United States.

I went to law school at Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas.  While there I excelled in legal research and writing, and I worked as a teaching assistant for the research and writing course.  I also served in the law clinic which gave me my first taste of representing the same type of client that I am representing today.. I graduated with honors from Washburn in December 2007 and after taking the Texas bar exam, became licensed to practice law in Texas in May 2008.  As I said above, I have been representing homeowners, landowners, consumers, and debtors from the first day I was licensed as an attorney.  I have written articles relating to financial and credit issues and I have had Federal Court decisions published regarding my cases.  From May 2008 to May 2012 I worked at a law firm in Dallas that represents clients having financial and credit problems.  My wife and I then decided that we wanted to be closer to family and get back to West Texas.  I have had my own firm since that time.
