Johnny Rosenbaum is a southwest Virginia native and veteran of the United States Navy. Upon his return from the military he completed his education at the Virginia Highlands Community College, Virginia Intermont College and he received his legal degree from the Appalachian School of Law.. He is licensed to practice in Virginia and Tennessee.. He worked for the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in Washington County and then spent seven years at Scyphers & Austin P.C. before opening this firm in 2015.

I grew up in Southwest Virginia. I decided to become an attorney to help serve this area and its people. My passion has always been family law. I enjoy helping clients through difficult times and guiding them through their trials with individualized attention. It was because of this passion I attended Campbell’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in Raleigh, North Carolina where I majored in trial advocacy.. During my time in law school, I focused on family law and estate planning. In 2012, I graduated at the top of my class with honors and passed the North Carolina Bar. In early 2013, I passed the Virginia Bar. At this time, my active license is in Virginia only. Since that time, I have been in private practice as well as worked in other legal capacities.. In the first few years of my practice, I worked in a general practice firm where I grew as an attorney who litigated matters from real property, family law, to personal injury. After that time, I worked as a magistrate in Northern Virginia where I issued warrants for arrest, search warrants, emergency protective orders and emergency custody orders for mental health.

I am experienced in the areas of criminal defense; trafffic; DUI; domestic relations; and other misc. civil matters.

Born and raised in Bristol.  UVA graduate.  Duke University Law, top 10% of my class.     I gained experience at large litigation law firms in Dallas, Texas and Washington, D.C. before I returned to the Tri-Cities. I live in  Abingdon with my wife and children. I have litigated hundreds of cases.  I have tried cases in front of Virginia and Tennessee juries. I have written briefs and argued appeals in Virginia, Tennessee and federal courts.  I have argued twice before the nine justices of the United States Supreme Court.. I have a passion to use my education and experience in helping everyday people.  I have obtained excellent recoveries for them in dozens of cases, ranging from multimillion dollar settlements to small fender-bender cases of a few thousand dollars.
