Pam has been a Partner at O’Connell & Aronowitz since 1997 where she practices in our Personal Injury Litigation Department. She was the firm’s managing partner for fifteen years. Her accomplishments tackling the legal issues that arise during litigation have been critical to the firm’s overall success.. Pam consistently obtains excellent results representing plaintiffs in all areas of personal injury lawsuits including wrongful death cases, medical malpractice, automobile collisions, trucking crashes, dangerous products, abused children, and defective medical devices and pharmaceuticals. Since New York State’s passage of the Child Victims Act in 2019, she represented countless numbers of survivors of child sexual abuse in actions against their abusers and against the establishments that failed to prevent the abuse.. Her results speak for themselves. Pam recently settled an automobile collision involving a pedestrian for $4 million. She settled a pedestrian-construction case for $2.65 million. Pam was the driving force in winning an $11 million verdict in a medical malpractice case involving sexually abused children. Pam obtained a $1.8 million settlement in a medical malpractice case involving a physically abused and neglected child. She co-counseled a wrongful death trucking collision which settled for $6.5 million dollars and a ski injury trial which ultimately settled for $1.5 million dollars. Pam also reached a settlement of $750,00 for the wrongful death of a three-year-old child.. Pam has obtained millions of dollars on behalf of children injured at birth and on behalf of adults and children who have suffered injury and death as a result of malpractice. She has represented many families in wrongful death actions to recover for the loss of a family member due to the negligent acts of others. Pam understands that the focus must be on family after a parent or child sustains an injury and she fiercely protects families’ legal and financial rights so they can focus on their emotional and physical needs. She is a tireless advocate for New York State’s Grieving Families Act which would allow families to seek compensation for grief or anguish, loss of love, protection, comfort, and companionship and loss of nurture, guidance, counsel, advice, training and education resulting from death of a loved one.. Pam also takes pride in her commitment to the L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.+ community in the Capital Region through her legal representation of clients in the community and through the firm’s participation in local events that support and celebrate diversity.. When she is not practicing law, Pam is an active volunteer supporting many different causes that encourage and ensure health and safety. In 2012, she joined forces with The Casey Feldman Foundation and for a national distracted driving initiative aimed at keeping high school students safe on the road. The Casey Feldman Foundation is a not-for-profit whose namesake was a 21-year-old Fordham University student who was killed by a distracted driver. Her parents, Joel and Dianne, both attorneys, started the foundation in their daughter’s memory with the hopes of sparing other families from such profound loss. Tragedy inspired a national movement and began Pam’s journey as an advocate of EndDD in upstate New York. Today, under her leadership, O’Connell and Aronowitz volunteer attorneys have brought EndDD’s message to more than 14,000 students in upstate New York. Pam has also presented to the NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and NYS Partnership for Teen Driving Safety.. Every year, Pam leads our firm in volunteer efforts to help others in need. These efforts have ranged from providing food and clothing to homeless veterans and providing school supplies to children in need, to painting the physical plant of the local Boys and Girls Club, and purchasing supplies for domestic violence safehouses and homeless shelters. Her outreach has also included cleaning protected beaches to save wildlife and organizing supply donations around the country to aid victims of natural disasters.. Pam serves as the Capital Region Affiliate President of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and is a member of NYSTLA’s Executive Committee. She is an active member of the Leader’s Forum with the American Association for Justice and The Injury Board, a national community of personal injury attorneys committed to consumer safety. Once again named to the Best Lawyers in America list in addition to the Upstate New York Super Lawyer’s list since 2012, Pam also earned the highest level of recognition from her peers with Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent Rating.. Kathleen is an associate with O'Connell & Aronowitz, P.C.'s Health Law department.  She joined the firm as law clerk in 2014.. Before joining O’Connell and Aronowitz, Kathleen was a law clerk in Counsel’s Office at the New York State Office of Medicaid Inspector General, as well as an intern in the Office of Counsel to the New York State Governor.  Prior to law school, Kathleen was a Project Coordinator and Administrator for two health care consulting firms located in Washington, D.C. and Clifton Park, N.Y., as well as a Project Administrator with the New York State Department of Health’s Bureau of Early Intervention.. Kathleen is a graduate of Albany Law School and St. John’s University.  While in law school, Kathleen was honored with the Class of 2014 Kate Stoneman Student Award and The Student Service Award. She was also a 2014 finalist in both the Donna Jo Morse Client Counseling and Negotiations Competitions.

Jeffrey J. Sherrin, President of Albany, NY-based O'Connell & Aronowitz, is an accomplished litigator for health care, commercial, and employment matters. His national health law practice principally represents providers and their trade associations. His clients include hospitals, clinical laboratories, varied health care providers, nursing homes, home health care agencies and adult care facilities.. Jeff practices in all federal and state courts, and before all federal and state health care regulatory agencies. He has successfully represented health care clients in two appeals before the United States Supreme Court.. He actively represents clients in all types of healthcare litigation, including criminal, civil and administrative fraud and abuse investigations, Medicare, Medicaid and private insurer audits, and commercial litigation. He also represents providers in professional discipline and regulatory enforcement matters.. In the area of Employment Law, Jeff obtained a $15.4 million jury verdict for an individual plaintiff in a sexual harassment trial.  He also recently recovered over $5 million for a group of clinical laboratories from the State of New York, for excessive license fees, and over $5 million for an individual clinical laboratory from a major health insurance company for wrongful denials of claims.  Jeffrey has also successfully represented shareholder interests in major class action litigation.

I am senior partner and supervisor of O'Connell and Aronowitz's Health Law practice. Concentrating in areas of health care and general corporate enterprise development and transactions, I represent both for-profit and not-for-profit clients in corporate business transactions including: corporate formation; joint ventures; sales, mergers and acquisitions; buy-sell agreements; real estate transactions, leasing and financing; certificate of need; licensing and the operation of health care facilities. I have spoken on topics involving health care licensing, corporate formation, not-for-profit corporate issues, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and various issues in health law to trade association groups as well as the Albany County and New York State Bar Associations.. Community service is an integral part of my personal and professional life. I have a decades-long relationship with the Junior League of Albany, an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. I am past president of the Komen Foundation of Northeastern New York and the Brown School Board of Directors, and have served on the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association.

Danielle is an attorney with O’Connell & Aronowitz. Danielle is involved in representing and advising a broad spectrum of health care and social service provider clients in civil litigation, transactional work, compliance, fraud and abuse, and other regulatory and general business matters.  She has clinical ethics experience and advises clients on the ethical and legal requirements related to health care delivery.  She also has experience in guardianship hearings and has been appointed to the Part 36 court-appointed New York Fiduciaries list maintained by the New York State Unified Court System.  Danielle is eligible to be appointed as an attorney for the incapacitated person, court evaluator, or guardian.. Prior to joining O'Connell & Aronowitz, Danielle was an associate attorney at a law firm where she represented clients primarily in the area of workers compensation defense. Her past experience includes being the Clinical Ethics Fellow at Albany Medical Center as well as internships during law school with Northeast Health and CDPHP.. Danielle obtained her M.S. in Bioethics at the Alden March Bioethics Institute at Albany Medical Center and her J.D. from Albany Law School with a concentration with honors in Health Law. She also served as the Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Science & Technology. Upon her graduation, she was inducted into the National Order of Barristers for excellence in student advocacy and moot court. Danielle currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Cerebral Palsy Associations Guardianship Corporation. In addition, she is a member of the Institutional Review Board at Albany Medical Center, a member of St. Margaret’s Ethics Review Committee and an Assistant Adjunct Professor at Albany Medical College.
