I have been practicing law for nearly 30 years and have tried many cases to verdict, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in New York and Vermont.. I was born and raised in the Albany area, the fifth of seven children. I received my undergraduate degree from Manhattan College and my law degree from Hofstra University School of Law.. My father worked for a local power company and my mother was a school teacher. They both worked very hard to ensure that we all had a decent upbringing. Two of the greatest qualities I inherited from my parents are a strong work ethic and an understanding that we all have an obligation to help those in need. I am a trial lawyer who focuses his practice on the representation of clients in serious personal injury cases.  I have experience handling Motor Vehicle, Medical Malpractice, Premises Liability, Products Liability and other Personal Liability matters, and have successfully resolved numerous cases on behalf of my clients.. Recently, I obtained a $1.4 million dollar settlement for my clients who were catastrophically injured in a complicated motorcycle/automobile accident involving multiple defendants.  I was also part of the trial team which obtained a $1.1 million dollar verdict for clients seriously injured in an automobile accident, one of the largest Albany County verdicts in over a decade.. Prior to joining DeGraff, Foy & Kunz, LLP, I practiced as an associate at a well-established personal injury firm in the Hudson Valley, and before that, at a large litigation firm in Albany.  I received my law degree from Albany Law School, where I won the Best Oral Advocate Award in the Domenick L. Gabrielli Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition.  I earned my undergraduate degree from Villanova University.

I am senior partner and supervisor of O'Connell and Aronowitz's Health Law practice. Concentrating in areas of health care and general corporate enterprise development and transactions, I represent both for-profit and not-for-profit clients in corporate business transactions including: corporate formation; joint ventures; sales, mergers and acquisitions; buy-sell agreements; real estate transactions, leasing and financing; certificate of need; licensing and the operation of health care facilities. Graig contributes to the versatility of O’Connell and Aronowitz’s legal services for Capital Region residents. He was brought in to strengthen the firm’s Business Law & Transactions practice group. He represents small businesses in asset acquisitions and sales, corporate formations, and advises clients in commercial litigation matters.  He also represents private real estate clients, developers, banks and other institutional lenders in their real estate transactions.  Graig’s understanding of the loan process from all angles enables the firm to advise corporate clients throughout the closing process while providing representation across a range of real estate legal matters including contract negotiation, lease disputes, and adverse possession matters.. Graig also practices civil litigation and employment law, representing employers and employees in employment discrimination, FLSA, FMLA and labor law matters. David Cost is a litigator who counsels a broad array of clients including commercial clients across multiple industries as well as individuals on the local, state and national level. He has successfully represented clients in personal injury, property damage, civil rights, subrogation and commercial litigation lawsuits in both state and federal court, at the trial and appellate level.. David also specializes in mass tort litigation claims involving exposure to toxic chemicals, including representing corporate clients in asbestos cases around the country, as well as lead paint matters. He also has experience in matters involving complex business disputes, claims brought under New York State Labor Law, workers compensation group self-insurance trusts, media law, as well as insurance defense, which includes both jury trial and substantial motion practice.. Pro bono work also plays a significant role in David’s legal practice. In 2011, the Legal Project of Albany awarded him the prestigious Stanley J. Rosen Memorial Award for his pro bono service to victims of domestic violence. He also was lead trial counsel for a prisoner plaintiff in a Federal civil rights matter for denial of Constitutional Due Process Rights and Equal Protection Violations.. David has also been a presenter at multiple national conferences and serves on several firm and organizational committees. Danielle is an attorney with O’Connell & Aronowitz. Danielle is involved in representing and advising a broad spectrum of health care and social service provider clients in civil litigation, transactional work, compliance, fraud and abuse, and other regulatory and general business matters.  She has clinical ethics experience and advises clients on the ethical and legal requirements related to health care delivery.  She also has experience in guardianship hearings and has been appointed to the Part 36 court-appointed New York Fiduciaries list maintained by the New York State Unified Court System.  Danielle is eligible to be appointed as an attorney for the incapacitated person, court evaluator, or guardian.. Prior to joining O'Connell & Aronowitz, Danielle was an associate attorney at a law firm where she represented clients primarily in the area of workers compensation defense. Her past experience includes being the Clinical Ethics Fellow at Albany Medical Center as well as internships during law school with Northeast Health and CDPHP.. Danielle obtained her M.S. in Bioethics at the Alden March Bioethics Institute at Albany Medical Center and her J.D. from Albany Law School with a concentration with honors in Health Law. She also served as the Note and Comment Editor for the Journal of Science & Technology. Upon her graduation, she was inducted into the National Order of Barristers for excellence in student advocacy and moot court. Brian is highly experienced and steeped in Higher Education and Labor Relations.
