Travis is an associate in the firm’s Business Practice Group.  He received his law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2009.  While in law school, Travis served as President of the College of Law’s Business and Tax Law Association and successfully completed the Clayton Center’s Concentration in Business Transactions.  Travis’s practice encompasses a wide array of business matters.

Larry and his wife, Dershie (who is a writer), have three children: Brandon (speech pathologist who has three children of his own), Trenton (works in the film industry) and Kendal (works at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC).. His interests include spending time at his second home on Dewees Island, near Charleston, SC. Larry is Past President of the Deedee Paschal Barrier Island Trust, a 501(c)(3) foundation he helped found to encourage the study and preservation of barrier islands like Dewees.. A skier and avid fly fisherman, Larry is known to be AWOL during a western snowstorm or the mayfly hatch. Since his three children have (allegedly) flown the coop, he and his wife enjoy travel but are always seduced back home to be near their grandchildren.

John is a litigation attorney focusing on environmental law, complex business litigation, governmental affairs, and public policy. John joined the firm in 2013, after serving for two years as law clerk to the Honorable Calvin E. Murphy on the North Carolina Business Court. Prior to his clerkship, John was a summer clerk to the Honorable Robert C. Hunter, Jr. on the North Carolina Court of Appeals and, before attending law school, worked for UNC President Erskine Bowles.. John has been involved in cases concerning a broad range of companies, from multi-billion dollar financial institutions, to small, closely-held family businesses. In his environmental practice, John has worked on Brownfields Redevelopment, permitting under the Clean Water Act and Endangered Species Act, nuisance actions, administrative rulemaking, oil and natural gas leasing, and energy performance contracting. While with the Business Court, John worked on cases involving shareholder rights disputes, corporate mergers and acquisitions, trade secrets, employment covenants, unfair and deceptive trade practices, international discovery, intellectual property disputes, and other business torts. John also has experience with government taxation of internet commerce, municipal negotiations and litigation over utility pole attachment rates, condemnation, and environmental sustainability.  John is also an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina Asheville where he teaches environmental law and regulation in the Masters of Liberal Arts and Sciences program.. John, a North Carolina native, serves the Asheville community as a volunteer domestic violence attorney with Pisgah Legal Services and is a member of UNC Asheville's National Alumni Council. John and his wife, Caroline, currently reside in Asheville.

Happily practicing law in the North Carolina mountains, my practice primarily involves construction and real estate issues.  I represent a number of planned communities, condominiums and homeowners' associations.  A substantial portion of my practice involves the support of and representation of contractors and developers.  I also advise individuals who want to arrange for owner financing and am thouroughly familiar with foreclosure proceedings.. In my spare time, I enjoy vegetable gardening, collegiate sports and the beautiful blueridge mountains!
