I grew up between Brooklyn, New York and Long Island. I attended New York University on an academic scholarship as the first in my family to graduate from college. You can say I beat the odds.. After graduating from NYU, I moved to Atlanta in 2000 to pursue a career in IT with IBM. While working at IBM, I started a successful promotions company, as a side interest, that would teach me so much about people and Atlanta as a whole. Despite this success, I decided to pursue a lifelong goal of becoming an attorney. I graduated from Georgia State University College of Law at the top of my class. Frank Burns, Esq. is the founder of J. Franklin Burns, P.C. and a native of Gainesville, Georgia. He began his legal career at Gorby & Reeves, an insurance defense law firm where he represented employers and insurance companies in Workers’ Compensation matters across the State of Georgia.. In 2002, he opened his law practice, J. Franklin Burns, P.C., devoting his practice exclusively to the representation of injured workers and personal injury victims. His experience in representing "the other side” has proven to be invaluable with respect the representation of injured workers.

Former insurance defense attorney (13 years of experience in that area) now exclusively representing victims against the insurance companies and their insureds.  My areas of practice include all major fields of personal injury litigation, including tractor-trailer collisions, commercial vehicle collisions, automobile collisions, collisions involving drunk/drugged driving, premises liability and wrongful death. I am admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Georgia, and I was elected as a Rising Star by SuperLawyers in 2012 and 2013. No more than 2.5% of lawyers 40 and under are included on this list. I was named a Super Lawyer in 2015, and was selected as a Top 100 Super Lawyer in 2016, 2017 and 2018. I have a “superb” rating on AVVO, and I am a member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, the Association of Plaintiff’s Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America, and the American Bar Association.. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I am a graduate of The Westminster Schools, Hampden-Sydney College, and University of Georgia School of Law. My thirteen years of experience representing insurance companies and their insureds has given me intimate knowledge of the insurance industry mindset, thereby allowing me to maximize recovery for my clients in the personal injury arena.

For over two decades, I have represented people injured by trains, cars, trucks and defective products  The injuries have been across a broad spectrum, from a broken bone to multiple injuries resutling in amputation and/or paralysis.  My verdict record speaks for itself having tried multiple cases to million dollar plus verdicts.  I take a keen interest in every client I have.   I do not take on a large number of clients.  Instead, I prefer to focus on a few clients that I can develop a deep relationship with them as well as devote the necessary time to their case.
