Robert is a native of Charlotte, NC, although he has lived in South Carolina (Charleston) and Georgia (Savannah) for a great portion of his life.  After high school in Charlotte, he attended and graduated from The Citadel with high honors.  Upon graduation he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant, Active Duty Army.  The Army waived his immediate comittment, so that he could attend Widener University School of Law.  Up graduating law school and earning his JD, Robert returned to active duty Army and served with the 3d Infantry Division as an infantry officer and then an Army JAG.  He deployed in support of OIF III and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for action in combat..
