Originally from Northern Minnesota, I have always committed myself to defending the rights of all Americans.  This began with joining United States Marine Corps Infantry and fighting in Afghanistan. Upon my return home, I began to put my experience to good use as I trained for a new battlefield, the courtroom.. After attending my hometown college, Bemidji State University, I came to Michigan to attend law school at Michigan State University College of Law. While at MSU Law, I was fortunate to participate in the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute.  The two-year program trained me in the specific skills required for successful trial advocacy.  During that period, I also gained experience by clerking at several firms.  I used those opportunities to study various areas of the legal profession, honing my research and written advocacy skills..
