Alex joined Duke Scanlan & Hall as an associate attorney in March 2018, and practices mainly in medical malpractice & other professional liability defense, insurance defense, and employment law. Alex grew up in the Denver, Colorado area. As an undergraduate, he worked as a legal assistant in firms whose practice areas include divorce & custody, evictions, debt collection, fair housing defense, and criminal defense. As a law student, Alex participated in national competitions as a member of the Moot Court Bar and spent a year working as a law clerk in the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office where he assisted in prosecuting homicide, internet crimes against children, drug crimes, insurance fraud, and public corruption cases. Alex was also a two-time CALI Award winner at USC, having earned the high grade in both Advanced Legal Writing and Trial Advocacy. Outside the office, Alex balances two oppositional passions: spending time with his family and playing golf.

After practicing as a hospital accountant at Church Home and Hospital in Boise for three years, Vickie, moved to Vail, Colorado to enjoy skiing and working  as an accountant.   When she sold her CPA practice, she enrolled at University of Idaho College of Law.. She was hired out of law school by Witherspoon Kelley in Spokane where she spent the next three years working in the areas of ERISA, business law and collections.  Missing the sun, she and her family moved to Boise, Idaho in 2003.. After a few years in Boise, she joined Eberle Berlin in 2005.  In 2008, she became a Shareholder of the firm.  She continues to practice in Estate Planning, Probate, and Business Law.. She continues to keep her CPA active, and holds a license as Certified Elder Attorney and Certified Financial Planner.. She and her family enjoy outdoor activities including mountain biking, road bike riding, skiing and hiking.  You can often find her with 3 dogs hiking the trails.

After graduating from the University of Iowa School of Law, a nationally-ranked top-tiered school, Jaren moved to Boise with her husband, Steve and dog, Radley.  She began her career as a family-law attorney and then spent several years representing sophisticated corporate and professional clients in major tort litigation.  Throughout her career, Jaren has represented clients in a variety of business, tort, employment, and family law disputes.  She has managed clients’ representation from start to finish, through both settlement negotiation and trial.. At Wieland Perdue, Jaren continues to prudently and skillfully litigate on her clients’ behalf in a variety of legal matters.  Her practice primarily focuses on complex business litigation and sophisticated divorce cases.. When she is not at the office, Jaren enjoys spending time with her husband and law-partner, Steve, and their two dogs, Radley and Maggie.  Jaren considers herself a fairly competent snowboarder and camper.  She is also a true connoisseur of fine wine and pizza.

A native Oregonian, I migrated to the great state of Idaho after attending Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I have spent time in both state and federal public defender offices and worked as a law clerk for the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) while in law school. I have spent all my career in private practice in the area of family law, specializing in divorce and custody issues. When not slaving away at the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife, son, and new puppy, exploring new places, and enjoying a good cup of coffee.
