Raised in Billings, Montana, Troy is a fourth-generation Montanan. He attended Billings West High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Montana College. Upon graduating, he moved to Seattle, where he worked for a Fortune 200 company, applying his business skills and acumen. After many years in the Pacific Northwest, Troy decided to expand upon his education and pursue a career in the law, with the intent of returning to Montana.. In 1993, Troy enrolled at Gonzaga University School of Law, where he completed his Juris Doctorate. Following law school, he took up residence in Bozeman, Montana, where he was in private practice until he joined BKBH as a shareholder in 2008.

This past May, Olivia graduated from the University of San Francisco School of Law where she was a part of the Real Estate Law Society and the Environmental Law Students and Alumni Society. Olivia passed the Montana Bar in July with a score high enough to qualify her to practice in all Uniform Bar Exam jurisdictions.. Although Olivia thoroughly enjoyed her time in San Francisco, she longed to get back home to the Intermountain West. Originally from Pocatello, Idaho, she has always been drawn to Montana. Justin was born and raised in Montana and attended the University of Montana School of Law.  He graduated from the University of Montana School of Law with honors.  After earning a J.D.,  Justin continued his education at the University of Florida where he obtained an LL.M. in Taxation.       During his tenure in Law School, Justin was the Co-founder and Co-president of the Outdoor Law and Recreation Group.  Justin has continued to maintain an active lifestyle and an appreciation for the outdoors.  Justin is also a member of BETTR (Business, Estates, Trusts, Tax, and Real Property) Section of the Montana Bar Association.
