When I was 16 years old I was seriously injured in an automobile accident. I suffered personal injuries to my liver and had to have my spleen removed. My mother hired an attorney to bring a lawsuit against the person who injured me. By the time the case settled I was a freshman at the University of Connecticut. I was looking for a career and wasn't quite sure what I wanted to be. My experience with being injured, dealing with my attorney, settling the case etc. inspired me to become an attorney myself. I declared my major, graduated UConn, and then put myself through law school. Thirty (30) years later I am still representing clients thanks to that episode that influenced me so long ago..
