I am passionate about helping my clients. I will use my knowledge, experience and energy to get the best results possible. I am nationally Board Ceritified as a Civil Trial Attorney. I am also a Fellow of the American Association for Justice and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. This is important because insurance companies know that I try cases to verdict. This means that they will pay top dollar to settle claims.. I am also equally passionate about serving my community. I am on the Board of Directors of Tunxis Community College, the Plainville Wheeler YMCA, I am the Vice President of the West Hartford Youth Hockey Association and a coach and Board Member of the Farmington Youth Baseball League. My law firm sponsors many local charity events for public schools and other non-profits.. Please give me a call with any legal questions/problems you have. I will be happy to help. If I cannot help, I will refer you to someone who can.. -Aaron

Many lawyer biographies look the same or list out accomplishments, but it is hard to get to know the person or to get an idea what the person is like. I am an attorney who works hard for his clients and who loves the day-to-day interaction with them. I like to get to know my clients and learn about their lives. I enjoy a challenge and like to represent the "little guy" whether it is against car company that knowingly allowed a faulty part in a car to make more money, a hospital that did not follow their own safety procedures, or a sacred institution that allowed horrible sexual abuse against children.. By way of background, I have been working at Tremont Sheldon in some capacity since 1987, but truly earlier than that. As a young person, I helped by weeding, washing windows, and moving files. I would receive my earliest legal education around the dinner table with my father as he recounted his day and time in the court room. I feel very fortunate that I was able to practice with my father for 7 years before he died in 1999. He instilled a love of the law and incredible work ethic in me, for which I am extremely grateful.. I grew up in Trumbull, Connecticut and enjoyed playing little league. I would go on to Fairfield Preparatory School and later Dickinson College where I spent my Junior year in Bologna, Italy learning Italian and politics. I attended and graduated University of Baltimore School of Law. I lived in Baltimore right near the baseball field of Camden Yards and was able to see many games even though I am a Mets fan. It was in Baltimore and after working with the prosecutor and doing ride-a-longs - did I realize that I wanted to return to Connecticut and practice a kind of law that helps people who were hurt by others.. Through my time at Tremont Sheldon I have had the opportunity to help thousands of clients in their personal injury claims such as car accidents, medical malpractice, dog bites, or any other personal injury claims. I truly enjoy the relationships that I have forged with the clients over the years and enjoy when they call to not only ask for legal advice, but to let me know about a life event or to simply catch up.. I have worked with many childhood sexual abuse survivors and continue to do so to bring justice to perpetrators and institutions that allowed these life-altering events to happen to innocent children. Our sexual abuse practice first started with clergy abuse in the 90s and has now evolved to a practice that handles all childhood abuse against institutions and individuals such as teachers, coaches, camp counselors, and any other person in authority. I am proud of my work with abuse survivors in giving them a voice and holding the perpetrators accountable.. I also can identify with many of my clients after a car accident, fall, or other physical injury. I have had 2 neurosurgeries for my neck and back and understand the scope, both physically and mentally, of a spine injury and disc injury as well as the long road of recovery. Every person has his or her own experiences with the injury, medical intervention, and subsequent recovery, but having my own experience gives me a unique perspective that most other attorneys do not have when negotiating with the insurance company or making an argument before a judge and jury.. I have been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® as one of the top personal injury attorneys in the country as well as other publications, but what is most important to me is my interaction and relationships with the clients. I treat my clients the way I would want to be treated and look at every case and client as an individual. My success is based on the number of people that I have helped over the years.

I am a native Spanish speaker who has lived in the United States since the age of 13. After graduating from the University of Connecticut in 1995, I was able to achieve my long time dream by graduating from law school in 1998. During the first few years of my legal career, I practiced in the area of criminal defense. Thereafter, since the year 2000 until the present, I have engaged in the practice of personal injury litigation.. I have been involved in the resolution of well over 1,000 personal injury cases, a number of which have involved figures over 1 million dollars.. I choose to only represent those that have suffered some type of harm at the hands of others and take great pride in my work. I believe that I am set apart from many in my profession by the fact that my clients are not simply a settlement waiting to happen, but rather, people who have been wronged and deserve the best of me.. I have tried dozens of cases in my career and became Board Certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in 2008. I continue to enjoy trying cases and look forward to my next challenge.. In May of 2012, I started my own law firm with my dear friend and fellow attorney, Jeffrey Cooper. We are located in Bridgeport, CT and practice in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, and worker's compensation.

For the past 30 years Andy has been representing people who have suffered life-changing events through no fault of their own. He has represented clients injured as a result of aviation accidents, catastrophic automobile and truck collisions, medical malpractice, defective products, including prescription and over the counter medications, premises liability and police misconduct.. In order to consistently achieve the best results for his clients, Andy brings his ethic of hard work and sense of fairness to his representation. He strongly believes in the firm's credo that "the best interests of the client always comes first." It is this belief and sense of doing what is right that has led him to offer services to clients that go far beyond his office practice, including pro bono representation of victims of the 911 terrorist attacks, service on the Board of the Connecticut Traumatic Brain Injury Association and countless hours spent advocating for injured citizens before the state General Assembly.. Andy is proud to have been a trial lawyer for the past 30 years and has tried numerous cases in State and Federal courts in all areas of the State of Connecticut. He has served on the Board of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association for many years and was its president from 1998 to 1999. During his tenure with the Trial Lawyers Association, Andy has lectured at many seminars and has been involved in the association's efforts at community outreach and supported such initiatives as its Bicycle Helmet give away program to inner city children and its continuing education programs known as the People's Law School. Andy has also been an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Connecticut School of Law since 1988, teaching a course on trial advocacy to second- and third-year students.. Over the years, Andy has used his experience as a trial lawyer to achieve many favorable verdicts and settlements for his clients. Some of his more noteworthy and satisfying cases include obtaining settlements and verdicts that assured financial security for a father of two who was rendered a quadriplegic when struck by a teenage driver during a high speed police chase through city streets, obtaining compensation sufficient to meet the future needs of babies born with massive brain damage as the result of medical errors, securing sufficient funds to care for the needs of a young woman who suffered such devastating injuries in an automobile collision that she would never again be able to care for herself, helping many women injured by defective products like the Dalkon Shield intrauterine device and defective drugs such as DES. What keeps Andy going is knowing that he is helping those who are most in need level the playing field when dealing with large corporations or insurance companies.. In addition to his work with the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, Andy has been selected for membership in The American Board of Trial Advocates, which is limited to top trial lawyers in the country who are vigorously engaged in civil litigation. He is certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and has been listed as one of New England and Connecticut’s Super Lawyers since 2009, earning the designation as one of Connecticut’s Top 50 attorneys in 2011, 2012 & 2013. He is also a sustaining member of the American Association For Justice, a member and frequent lecturer for the Hartford County Bar Association. Andy was appointed to the Department of Motor Vehicle's Commissioner's Advisory Committee on Teen Safe Driving. Andy was elected a 2013 Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation James W. Cooper Fellows Program.. Andy received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his law degree, with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law.. All Results
