He has served on the Board of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association for many years and was its president from 1998 to 1999. During his tenure with the Trial Lawyers Association, Andy has lectured at many seminars and has been involved in the association's efforts at community outreach and supported such initiatives as its Bicycle Helmet give away program to inner city children and its continuing education programs known as the People's Law School. Andy has also been an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Connecticut School of Law since 1988, teaching a course on trial advocacy to second- and third-year students.. Over the years, Andy has used his experience as a trial lawyer to achieve many favorable verdicts and settlements for his clients. Some of his more noteworthy and satisfying cases include obtaining settlements and verdicts that assured financial security for a father of two who was rendered a quadriplegic when struck by a teenage driver during a high speed police chase through city streets, obtaining compensation sufficient to meet the future needs of babies born with massive brain damage as the result of medical errors, securing sufficient funds to care for the needs of a young woman who suffered such devastating injuries in an automobile collision that she would never again be able to care for herself, helping many women injured by defective products like the Dalkon Shield intrauterine device and defective drugs such as DES. What keeps Andy going is knowing that he is helping those who are most in need level the playing field when dealing with large corporations or insurance companies.. In addition to his work with the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, Andy has been selected for membership in The American Board of Trial Advocates, which is limited to top trial lawyers in the country who are vigorously engaged in civil litigation.
