I have since handled hundreds of appeals in the North Carolina Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. I am admitted to the United States Supreme Court, but it hears a very few cases and has yet to agree to grant any of the petitions that I have filed.. When the North Carolina State Bar created the Appellate Law specilization in 2011, I qualified and sat for the examination. As a result of passing that test and the other qualification requirements, I am a certified appellate specialist.. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law in 1983, I married criminal defense attorney Eben Rawls and moved to Charlotte.
