Ms. Svetlana Schreiber was born in Romania. She came to the US when she was 12 years old and spent the next decade in New Jersey where she obtained her BA in comparative literature from Douglas College, New Brunswick, NJ in 1973 (where she was president of her class for two years).. She was admitted to a PhD program at Rutgers University which she commenced in 1973, but then marriage caused her to move to Ohio where she completed a MA degree in the same subject at Kent State University, where among other things, she taught a course in Romanian.. She attended John Marshall Law School at Cleveland State University and received a JDL in 1981. She has been in private practice since that time, specializing in domestic relations, personal injury, worker compensation and social security cases. The firm also handles Constitutional work, specifically First Amendament litigation, discrimination, police and government misconduct and major criminal cases.. Since 1990, Ms. Schreiber has become the primary attorney for the extensive Romanian community, being one of the few lawyers in the country to speak Romanian fluently. As a result of her involvement with the Romanian community she expanded her practice to include immigration law.. She subsequently became a member of CORA (Congress of Romanian Americans). She is currently the acting Chairperson of the Cleveland Chapter of the Romanian American Chamber of Commerce.. She is married and resides in Cleveland Hts., Ohio and has two grown sons both living in New York City. Bassel M. Abdallah is a strong believer that every immigrant to the United States deserves the opportunity to start a new life. Mr. Abdallah’s experience in the legal world began in his childhood. For many years, he watched his father and older brother practice law in Beirut, Lebanon. It was here that Mr. Abdallah decided to pursue a career in law. Mr. Abdallah graduated first in his class from Lebanese University- Filière Francophone de Droit, with a Bachelor of Laws and was admitted into practice in Lebanon. He furthered his legal education at Paris II Panthéon-Assas University in Paris, France, earning an LLM in Business Law. Intent on furthering his legal education, Mr. Abdallah immigrated to the United States, which piqued his interest in immigration law. He attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating with honors with a Master of Laws in U.S. and Global Legal Studies.

Attorney Maya Lugasy received her Juris Doctorate Cum Laude from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio, and she is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio. Maya graduated from the Ohio State University Cum Laude with a double major in Middle Eastern Studies and Hebrew, and a minor in Economics. During her high school and college years, she studied abroad in Argentina, Italy and spent her junior year of college in Irkutsk, Siberia (Russia). Upon her return from Russia, Jenna graduated from Trinity College, and was awarded the Russian Book Prize for scholastic excellence. She moved to Cleveland in 1995. She is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Case School of Law (Immigration Practicum I and II), and an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Cleveland-Marshall School of Law. She speaks Spanish and Russian.. Jenna is currently the Vice President of Ohio AILA, and a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She has received multiple awards for her pro bono service, notably for her efforts in ending family detention. She is married to Timothy Peyton, and they have two daughters, Margaret and Katherine.
