I currently concentrate my practice in the area of real estate law and help clients who are seeking to purchase or sell property in Illinois. I'm a member of the DuPage County Bar Association and a title agent for First American Title Corporation.. I've worked in the legal and non-legal sector throughout my career handling employment agreements, vendor contracts, recruitment agency agreements, real estate contracts and closings. Prior to opening this practice, I founded and successfully ran Chicago Recruiters, a staffing firm that specialized in the placement of Legal and IT professionals.

I have held a number of senior positions in both the legal and business sectors. I have worked extensively in both corporate law and business development, focusing on M&A activity, technology agreements, and complex commercial transactions.Most recently, I was Vice President and General Manager of Thomson Delphion, a web-based patent information business that is part of The Thomson Corporation. Delphion began as a spin-off from IBM in 2000, with funding by Internet Capital Group. I was one of the initial employees of Delphion, serving as its General Counsel and Vice President, Administration. Delphion was one of a small handful of web-based information sites that successfully transitioned from a "free" to "fee" business model during the recent technology down-turn. I became the General Manager of the business just prior to its acquisition by Thomson in December, 2002.From 1991 to 2000, I worked at senior legal positions in Motorola, Inc., Baxter International Inc. and Caremark International Inc. At Caremark, I led the legal team that managed the team defending Caremark against a federal fraud investigation and, while Acting General Counsel, negotiated the acquisition of Caremark by MedPartners, Inc.From 1988 to 2001, I was an associate at McDermott, Will & Emery, working on corporate transactions. I also served as an infantry officer in the US Marine Corps from 1975 until 1986.I graduated cum laude from University of Michigan Law School in 1988, and received a BS with honors in Urban Planning from the University of Virginia in 1975.

As an attorney, I have a strong desire to see that legal representation is affordable, accessible, and competent.  This drive to help others motivates my business philosophy to help wherever possible and however possible.  To this end, I strive to educate my clients of the many pitfalls that have sadly become too common in our legal system.  This desire to educate my clients has encouraged me to assist in matters of traffic where, more than any other area of law, proceeding without representation is common.   Every year, drivers have their driving privileges suspended, insurance rates increased, and face steep fees due largely to lack of representation.  Given the need for a car in today's increasingly hectic world, protection of diving privileges from traffic violations are fundamental.  It is my desire to see every client armed with the tools to be an active participant in their legal issue to not only prevent these outcomes but empower them to know their rights.My drive to be a positive force in my client's lives comes from years of service working to help those in need where the legal system has failed to adequately assist them.  My passion here primarily focused on aiding charities dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence which all too often continues in spite of attempts at prosecution.  I work to bring this passion for assisting others whenever I step up to represent a client in the hopes that I might help them find resolution to their current legal troubles.
