Tim is married to Sarah Kelsey, CEO of the National Alliance for Model State Drug Laws () and together they have one daughter named Carter, a black lab named Crunch, a giant six year old goldfish (as of 2016) named Marlin and two hermit crabs whose names change depending on the color of the shell they occupy.  Tim likes to play squash and ride mountain bicycles.
