Mr. Carter recieved his law degree from the Duke University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Carter worked at the U.S. Department of Justice as an Anaylst in the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance, and Training. After law school, Mr. Carter was privileged to clerk for the Honorable John McClarty of the Tennessee Court of Appeals. He is a former member of the Brock-Cooper American Inn of Court.. Mr. Carter serves as a Criminal Justice Act attorney in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee and also teaches a criminal law paralegal course at Chattanooga State Technical Community College.

Chris Markel has grown up in the Chattanooga area, and lived here with his family for most of his life. He started the Injured Worker's Justice Center to focus his law pracitce on the rights of injured workers. He has over 20 years of experience representing clients in worker's compensation cases, and prides himself on his effective representation on behalf of injured workers across Tennessee. He also has extensive practice experience representing clients in personal injury cases and other litigation matters.. Mr. Markel received his Juris Doctorate degree from Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at the University of Memphis in the year 2000, and is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, with a Bachelor of Arts. Bill Pemerton earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Technological University in 2000 and was awarded his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama in 2005. Upon graduation from Cumberland, he was honored with a Certificate of Trial Advocacy and has since maintained a substantial litigation practice.
