About me, I graduated from California Western School of Law in 2013 with a Juris Doctorate and a concentration in Criminal Law.  I was the recipient of the Americorps Equal Justice Works Scholarship, the Creative Problem Solving Scholarship, and an Academic Achievement Award for Trial Practice. I also joined the Moot Court Appellate Team and received a Best Advocate Award at the American Bar Association Appellate Advocacy Tournament in 2012.. While attending law school, I worked with the California Innocence Project identifying potentially innocent people in prison.  I also spent a year interning with the San Diego Public Defenders office.  FInally, I was a member of the Pro Bono Honors Society.. Founding attorney James F. Sexton originally represented insurance companies after earning his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law. For ten years, James defended insurance companies against claims from people injured in serious automobile and workplace accidents. In 2001, James experienced a change of heart and decided his abilities were better used helping individuals and their families rather than working against them. He now exclusively devotes his firm and practice to helping Southern Californians. Much of his work is centered on helping clients navigate personal injury or workers’ compensation claims, where James leverages his previous experience working for the insurance companies to build effective cases. He is passionate about helping struggling individuals to recover the damages they deserve and is proud to run The Sexton Law Firm with his son, Andrew.

Attorney Jeffrey D. Poindexter was raised in Southern California in Chula Vista. After graduating from Chula Vista High School, and completing two years at Southwestern College he continued on to obtain a bachelors degree from the University of San Diego where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in International Relations. Next, he followed in the footsteps of his father & served four years in the Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer onboard the USS Tuscaloosa making several transits of the Pacific Ocean. In 1993 he was admitted to the Bar after earning his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.. After earning his law degree he spent ten years working for a financial and real estate corporation in San Diego. During this period Mr. Poindexter handled hundreds of litigation matters, regularly appeared in court throughout California, and in Hawaii, Florida, New York, Ohio, and both State and Federal appellate courts.. In 2004 , Jeffrey opened The Law Offices of Jeffrey D. Poindexter, in which he combines the skills from his previous work with the essential personal touch found in smaller law offices. His hands-on approach to solving client’s disputes and problems have served his clients well and resulted in many successes. Jeffrey’s experience in solving a wide range of legal problems allows him to counsel and assist each client on a personalized basis, for most any legal situation which may arise.
