Joe Koncelik is an attorney with the law firm of Tucker Ellis LLP which is based in Cleveland, Ohio. The focus of Joe’s practice is in all facets of environmental law as well providing counsel on issues relating to renewable energy and climate change. Joe has a sub-specialty in the area of brownfield redevelopment and industrial property cleanup.  Prior to entering private practice Joe worked in State government for 12 years and held the most senior positions at Ohio EPA, including Director, Assistant Director and Chief Legal Counsel.  Joe has also fulfilled U.S. Green Builders Council's requirements to qualify as a LEED™ (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional.

I have been dedicated to serving the injured and disabled for 33 years, ever since I graduated from law school.  This area of law became my passion when, in 1982, many people were cut off from their benefits without notice or due process. Once I saw deserving people being harmed because they were not receiving their disability benefits, I was hooked. It has been my honor to represent many deserving people ever since.. Over the years I have served as the chair of the Social Security section of the Cuyahoga Bar Association, chair of the Social Security section of the Ohio Trial Layers Association, and President of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives. I testified before special Social Security sessions called by the Honorable George Voinovich and Stephanie Tubbs Jones. I have learned so much from these opportunities and have used this knowledge to help my clients. Hopefully, I have given back to the community at large as well.
