Mr. Wooten is admitted to practice law in Tennessee, Missouri and Texas and is currently a member of the Tennessee, Missouri and Texas State Bar Associations and the Memphis Bar Association, including the sections of Employment and Labor Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law, of which he is a member of the Board of Directors.  Mr. Wooten is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Western, Middle and Eastern Districts of Tennessee, the Eastern District of Missouri and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.Additionally, Mr. Wooten is a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Certified Civil and Family Law Mediator.  During his time at the University of Tennessee College of Law, Mr. Wooten worked in the Mediation Clinic and successfully mediated numerous cases in a variety of legal areas.  Mr. Wooten has personally participated in mediation and represented many clients in mediations. Mr. Wooten concentrates his mediation practice in the areas of corporate and business transactions, licensing and intellectual property, employment and labor law, family law disputes including divorces, landlord- tenant disputes, and education law.  Mr. Wooten is also a certifed Human Resource Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management.  He was the President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and participated in the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program during his time at the University of Tennessee College of Law.  Mr. Wooten also obtained a Certificate of Academic Achievement, signifying his obtainment of the highest grade in the class, from the University of Tennessee College of Law for the following classes: Mediation Clinic, Negotiations and Professionalism, International Business Transactions, and National Security Law.  In addition to his legal practice,  Mr. Wooten also has previous management experience in the Entertainment, Beverage, and Clothing Industries where he developed expertise in writing business plans, negotiating domestic and international licensing deals, obtaining product endorsements and sponsorships for athletes and artists, and providing creative legal solutions for great business ideas.

I was an artillery officer in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star and two medals for valor.  I studied history, language and politics at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, and when I returned from Vietnam I continued my studies at Tulane University in New Orleans and in Europe.  My first job after the Army was as a university lecturer in England.. I returned to the U.S.  and became a tenured associate professor of history at Loyola University in New Orleans.  I took classes at the law school and earned the Juris Doctor degree in 1987.. I was honored to be chosen to clerk for Chief Justice  Pascal Calogero of the Louisiana Supreme Court.  Thereafter, I was employed by several law firms at the associate level.  In 1991, I started my own practice and have developed a specialty in employment law.  I am admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and all state and federal courts in Louisiana.  I have lectured on employment law to other members of the bar as part of Loyola University's Continuing Legal education program and have spoken at Bar Association functions in Covington and Slidell.. I attended Georgetown College for undergraduate and received my Juris Doctor from the Louis D. Brandeis School of law at the University of Louisville. During law school, I clerked for Judge Ann Bailey Smith, who represents the 30th Judicial Circuit, Division 13 in Louisville, Kentucky, and worked as a law clerk for Abell Attorneys. After graduating in 2021, I took on a full-time role at Abell Attorneys as an associate attorney. I mainly represent individuals for claims against the government and companies for federal and state employment law violations such as hostile work environment, wrongful termination, and discrimination. However, I also take on clients for various other legal matters such as landlord-tenant disputes and personal injury cases. I am licensed to practice in the state of Kentucky, the federal Western and Eastern Districts of Kentucky, and the Southern District of Indiana.
