Robert Wilhite was born in Dallas, Texas in 1978. He has one brother Nathan, who lives in Seattle, WA and is a Senior Manager of Product Management at Amazon Video. As a young boy Rob was very active in sports and outdoor activities. He played football, baseball and lacrosse in high school at Highland Park High School in Dallas. He was also enjoyed numerous other outdoor activities. He learned many of his outdoor skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout, which he succeeded in becoming in 1994. After graduating high school 1996, Rob attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. As a freshman, he lived in Farrand Hall dormitory and also became a member of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. On the State level, Mr. Zaner regularly teaches for the Colorado Trial Lawyers at their state convention, statewide CLEs, and for CTLA’s new lawyer bootcamps, He has also spoken at the prestigious Arkansas Trial Lawyers College on one of his favorite topics: transplanting 2,000-year-old trial techniques from the Roman trial lawyer Cicero and demonstrating how they can be effective in today’s trials.. Jonathan S. Willett was born and raised in New York City. He attended college in Colorado, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy from the University of Colorado in 1982. After graduation, Mr. Willett returned to New York City to work as a writer, but found himself longing for the Colorado Mountains. In 1983, he enrolled in the University of Denver College of Law.. At the University of Denver College of Law, Mr. Willett was the Articles Editor of the Denver University Law Review. Mr. Willett published a Note, Evolving Standards for Duty of Fair Representation Cases Under Section 301, 62 Den. U. L. Rev. 627 (1985). Mr. Willett graduated from the College of Law with a Juris Doctor degree in 1986.. Mr. Willett was employed as an attorney in the Appellate Division of the Colorado State Public Defender in Denver from 1986 to 1989. In 1989, Mr. Willett became a trial deputy with the Jefferson County trial office of the Colorado State Public Defender located in Golden, Colorado.. In mid 1992, he then began working for the law firm of Chalat & Company. Mr. Willett became a sole proprietor in 1994. As a private attorney, Mr. Willett has handled medical and legal malpractice cases, civil rights cases, family matters including child custody, employment cases, personal injury matters, ski litigation, and every type of criminal case ranging from the death penalty to white collar crime and juvenile delinquency. Mr. Willett has been attorney of record in over 60 jury trials and 125 appeals. Mr. Willett appears as counsel of record in 25 published opinions of the Colorado Court of Appeals, the Colorado Supreme Court and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.. Jonathan Abramson specializes in the defense of civil litigation. He received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from the University of Denver.  Mr. Abramson's civil practice focuses primarily on the representation of truck drivers and trucking companies in accident cases and Mr. Abramson also defends law enforcement and municipalities in §1983 civil rights cases. If you ask Sean why he does personal injury work, this is the story he tells: "You know, I guess I’ve been picking fights with bullies since I was a kid. I was riding the bus home one day in middle school, and I saw another boy picking on someone about half his size. So, I stood up and told him what I thought of what he was doing. When we got off at our stop, he made it clear to me that we were going to have a fight about it. He was about a head taller than me. I don’t think I won, but I did get him to go away and leave us alone. That was a scary moment for me. But I’ve always been glad I spoke up.". About 20 years later, Sean is picking fights to help people who’ve been hurt due to the irresponsible acts of others. He’s accepted clients who were rejected by multiple other lawyers, brought their cases to trial, and won against long odds. He’s advised his clients to reject unjust settlement offers from some of the world’s largest and most powerful companies and forced those companies to pay far more than they said they would. In 2017, he helped a single mom who was permanently injured get justice from one of the largest grocery store chains in the country. The company offered only $250,000. Sean and his team obtained a jury verdict of $1.77 million. The case settled for $2.1 million after Sean and his team asked the court to add interest and costs and to increase the damages caps.. Sean’s willingness to fight means his clients often don’t have to. Sean and his team recently tried a case against a large insurance company and secured a judgment for hundreds of thousands of dollars – almost triple what the company offered to pay. That company now offers Sean’s other clients fairer settlements.. Sean and his team help people who have been injured in car, bike, vehicle vs. pedestrian, motorcycle, and truck accidents; people injured because of negligent property design, property cleaning, or property maintenance; people injured by dangerous products of all different categories; and people with a multitude of other types of personal injury claims.. I started my legal career nine years ago in the Dallas/Fort Worth area as a solo practitioner helping clients with a broad range of problems including employment law claims, personal injury, family law and consumer law. The focus of my practice was primarily plaintiff-side litigation where I had the opportunity to help individuals and families stand up against entities that had a lot more money, power and presence than my clients. We live in a society where there are very few resources to help fight for justice and fight for a fair stake and even fewer job opportunities where you can earn a living fighting the good fight. Plaintiff-side legal work is one of the rare opportunities to earn a living fighting for a more just society.. As time went on and I refined my skills as a litigator I also refined the focus of my practice to spend less time on family law and consumer law and more time on employment law and personal injury. You don't have to drive far or watch much television in Texas to know there are a lot of personal injury attorneys but there are far fewer employment lawyers practicing plantiff-side who seriously delve into this highly technical area of law as more than a side hustle. I decided to narrow my practice to these two areas to better utilize my expertise and skills.. After spending thirty-five years in Texas my wife and I decided it was time for a new adventure and packed our bags and headed to Denver, Colorado. Once settled and licensed in Colorado I sought out employment with a firm. While I enjoyed the freedom of solo practice, I missed the commraderie of a larger workplace.
