We are a DUI defense law firm.  We represent drivers charged with DUI. DUI defense is one of the most complex areas of law.  Most DUI cases involve scientific evidence and questions of constitutional law.  It can be a mistake to assume you have no defense to a DUI arrest and plead guilty before speaking with an attorney.  Many DUI cases can be dismissed or reduced even before trial with the help of a knowledgeable DUI defense attorney.  In other cases, a jury trial may be your best and sometimes only option to beat a DUI.  In all cases, your attorney should prepare the case for trial to ensure the best possible outcome.. You should meet with several attorneys.  It is important you have confidence in the knowledge, skill and experience of the attorney you choose to represent you.  Keep in mind that cost, while important, should not be the determinative factor in hiring an attorney.  The cheapest attorney is usually not the least expensive attorney in the long run.. During your consultation, you should ask the following questions:. Have you tried DUI jury trials before this court?. Often attorneys take cases in courts they are unfamiliar with or in areas of law that they have little or no experience in.  A defense attorney unfamilar with a perticular court or area of law is at a disadvantage and that may affect the outcome in your case.  The defense attorney may not know of specific defenses applicable to your facts, or know about specific procedures unique to the judge who is hearing your case.  Your defense will be stronger if the prosecutor and the judge already know and respect your attorney.. What can you tell me about the arresting officer?. …the judge? …the prosecutor?. Knowing the “players” in your case will significantly increases the chance of beating a DUI.  An attorney who knows everyone involved can better gage what issues will be determinative and more accurately predict the outcome.. Have you ever won a DUI case similar to mine?. Ask about case specifics such as, if you gave a breath sample, ask if the attorney has won a breath test case?  If you have a DUI drugs case with blood test results, ask if the attorney has won a DUI drugs case with blood test results.  It is important your attorney know what it takes to win a case with your particular issues.  Be sure to ask for the court and court case number of any case cited as an example so you can confirm what you have been told.. What practice areas does your law firm handle?. To be fair, an attorney does not have to “just” practice DUI defense to be a strong DUI defense attorney, but if a large percentage of the attorney’s practice is not devoted to DUI defense, it is unlikely the attorney has the DUI specific knowledge, skill and experience necessary to win your case.. Will you be the attorney actually representing me in court?. Bait and switch is never a good thing!  Not when buying a product or retaining professional services.  You are selecting an attorney based upon your impressions during the consultation.  Make sure you are retaining the attorney who impressed you and not someone you’ll meet for the first time when they introduce themselves to you in the courtroom.. What DUI specific training do you have?. Ask the attorney to explain the standardized field sobriety evaluations, the Intoxilyzer 9000, the H.P. Gas Chromatograph (if a blood test is involved), the metabolism of alcohol in the human body, the elements of the offense(s) you are charged with, and the case law involved in the defenses available to you.  While you’re at it, consider asking why the attorney represents driver’s accused of DUI.. How do you expect to win my case?. Before you retain counsel, you should know how the attorney expects to win or resolve your case.  You should have a very clear idea of the issues, risks and likelihood of success.  If you were hiring a contractor to repair your home or a mechanic to fix your car, you would expect no less.  A DUI conviction is a serious matter.  Don’t be less careful hiring your attorney than you would be in choosing a mechanic or contractor.

In my 35 years of practicing law in the personal injury field, I have been involved in claims that would break your heart into pieces. When you investigate these wrecks and look at the photos taken at the scene of the crash — photos of men, women, and children — who have died in these collisions, it leaves an indelible mark on you. Try as I may, I can never forget those faces.. Equally gut-wrenching are the times when I meet with the surviving family members to talk about the wreck and about their loved one. They have such fond, vivid memories. But now, their world is turned upside down. I serve as part attorney and part counselor —- helping them through the legal process while listening to them, at times crying with them, but always supporting them through the process.. Other families have met with me at the table discussing their wreck and their injuries. They tell me the paychecks have stopped coming because of the partner’s back injury. Unfortunately, the bills haven’t stopped. They are worried:. * will they lose their job?. * how will they pay the medical bills without health insurance?. * who will pay to repair the damaged car?. * what about their future medical needs?. These are certainly legitimate concerns and worries and these victims deserve answers. They deserve someone who is willing to fight to get them all the cash and benefits they are legally entitled to receive. Every single client needs an attorney that cares, that will take action, and will listen.. I’ll admit, it’s not an easy task.. I suppose I learned best how to work with people when tragedy strikes from watching my father. For more than 50 years, he was a United Methodist minister serving churches in south Alabama and northwest Florida. He was always there whenever someone needed to talk - never judging, but listening. It’s funny how a lot of people just assume preachers only work on Saturdays for weddings and Sundays to preach - mix in the occasional funeral too. His work never seemed to end. If the home phone wasn’t ringing, there was a knock on the door from one of the members of the church - or a friend of a friend who was a member - that just wanted to talk.. This kind of work is not a 9-to-5 type of commitment. It requires long hours, rolling up the sleeves, and a dedicated work ethic.. I am proud to say that we have helped over 45,000 victims and their families since 1993 in their car wreck, workers’ compensation, wrongful death, inadequate security, and social security claims. It has been an honor and a privilege to have helped these people through their trying times. I’m proud of what I do, and I’m thankful that the Good Lord has given me the opportunity to continue to work in this field.. I wrote a book that became a bestseller in three separate categories on entitled The Authority on Personal Injury Claims in Georgia: The Definitive Guide for Injured Victims & Their Lawyers. It is my hope that this book will help guide injured victims and their attorneys through the minefields that can exist in personal injury claims. Some attorneys would never let you peek behind the curtain to see how they handle cases. To me, there are no secrets. I want to share our knowledge with others so they can help Georgia’s consumers take on the insurance industry and their "Delay, Deny and Defend" tactics.. Should you ever have any questions regarding a personal injury, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, or social security disability claim, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you would like to have my law firm conduct a free, no obligation, completely confidential consultation of your case, please do not hesitate to call. At a minimum, if you don’t call us, please call someone who specializes in personal injury claims.. Our toll-free phone number is .. Or you can call.. God Bless and Be Safe!. I began the practice of law in 1998.  I spent 18 years  with another well-established Duluth law firm accepting the invitation to join the law firm of SiebenCarey.  I work primarily on cases involving car accident, product liability, wrongful death and workers compensation law.  I also handle professional negligence cases.. Although my personal office is in Duluth, at SiebenCarey, I handle cases across Minnesota and Wisconsin, including the Twin Cities metro area out of the Minneapolis office.. I only work for individuals - never for the insurance companies.  I also handle cases on a contingency basis - meaning, I only get paid at the conclusion of the case if I am successful, and only as a percentage of what I am able to recover for my client.  If there is no recovery, there is no fee.

I am pleased to introduce myself to you. I am a native north Georgian, with two degrees from the University of Georgia and have practiced law in the Atlanta metro area for over two decades. I am married with four children. My hobbies include traveling, fishing, running and trivia competitions.. About Scholle Law. For over two decades, Scholle Law has earned a reputation for professionalism, compassion and a tireless dedication to our clients. We take great pride in our expertise and depth of legal knowledge, legal procedure and trial skills. We bring these skills to bear in obtaining outstanding results for our clients. Powerful, well-funded forces push against Georgia citizens and families -- and those forces can be business entities, insurance companies, government actors or quasi-governmental agencies. Our firm excels in defeating these forces through determination, resourcefulness and by simply working harder for our clients.. We are selective in the cases we take on, so that we can fight our hardest for our clients. Unlike high-volume practices that take every case that comes to them, we believe a client is better served by individual attention to their needs and the specific details of their case. We focus our intellectual and financial resources on fewer matters, maximizing the results and ensuring a more satisfying representation for both client and attorney.. We care greatly about our clients. Once a matter is resolved, we remain in contact with most of our past clients and those clients send us referrals within their communities, friends and families. Legal matters can be very stressful. They often include important life decisions at vulnerable moments. It is vital to us that our clients feel that we stand by them every step of the way as counselors of the law. We are honored to represent victims of accidents and injury and to help them, and their families, regain their lives.
