Lisa has worked as a litigation attorney since 1996. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she was an engineer for Cadillac Motor in Detroit, and for Texaco in Seattle. She obtained her law degree at the University of Puget Sound (now known as Seattle University School of Law) while working full-time as an engineer. She also was an officer in a residential construction company in Woodinville. Prior to joining Beresford Booth, Lisa worked as a professional malpractice and negligence defense attorney, representing large construction companies on wrongful death and severe injury matters, health care professionals and nursing homes in negligence claims, and property owners on premises liability matters. She also spent six years in private practice, where she assisted clients with estate planning, commercial contracts, leases, and eminent domain cases. Lisa has served as an arbitrator for both King and Snohomish Counties, for over 15 years, and has also been retained to arbitrate private disputes.. Lisa now focuses her practice on litigation of a variety of civil matters, including real estate, contract, tort, and business matters. Lisa’s broad experience as an engineer, business owner, and litigator enables her to make realistic risk assessments, and helps her to help her clients anticipate and avoid problems before they become expensive headaches. Lisa works with compassion and empathy for her clients, while serving as a zealous advocate who does not shy away from challenging negotiations.. Lisa is also committed to being involved in the local community. She works with the Eastside Legal Assistance Program, Komen Puget Sound, and the National MS Society. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her Standard Poodle “Daisy Duke,” fly fishing, volleyball, and golf. She is also an avid oenophile — with zinfandel topping her list of all-time favorites.

I am committed to helping my injured clients get through a difficult, and at times, an overwhelming process with the least amount of hassle possible. When you are in pain, the last thing you want to deal with are pushy adjusters who are trying to tell you how fast you ought to heal from your injuries, or try to make you feel guilty because their insured caused these problems for you. When dealing with my office, we go out of our way to take all this off your plate so you can just get better and know that you are protected in the process. I love what I do, and it shows not just in the results we get for our clients, but in the way we help and relate to our clients.. Insurers willl always ask for a jury trial so they can try to manipulate jurors into thinking you are trying to get something for nothing. They have done a fine job of using their resources to make the public believe that most regular folks who are injured are presenting bogus claims. This is simply not true. The Insurance Commissioners Association of America has studied this issue and concluded that only 3 percent of injury claims involve fraud. However, insurers know that through their efforts they have molded public opinion to believe it is closer to 50-70 percent of cases involve fraud or over reaching. This why they always insist on a jury trial, because judges know better. This is also why you need an attorney who tries cases to juries regularly and knows the value of using the whole truth in the courtroom! And won't just settle the case quick and cheap to avoid going to trial.. Juries are too smart to fool with tricks or clever arguments. Your attorney has to come to trial armed with the truth, and has to earn the trust of the jury in presenting your case to the jury. Otherwise, you will be placed in that 50-70 percent category and face an up hill battle in your fight for justice.. My firm is committed to representing our clients with trust, integrity, honesty, compassion and courage. We welcome the opportunity to help clients who have been hurt through the actions of others who don't want to accept responsibility for their actions. Please feel free to call us for a consultation. I am a litigator with over 15 years’ experience representing businesses across a wide array of industries in contractual, corporate, employment and real estate disputes, as well as matters of regulatory compliance. In addition to business litigation, I have substantial experience in trust and estate disputes (TEDRA), representing personal representatives and trustees against all manner of claims and ensuring that directives expressed in wills and trusts are properly carried out. On top of my extensive litigation practice, I also enjoy crafting arguments at the appellate level, having argued multiple cases in front of the Washington Court of Appeals and the Idaho Supreme Court.. I thrive in the courtroom and pride myself on my ability to relay my clients’ stories to judges and juries in ways that are easily understood and incredibly persuasive. I know that every issue my clients bring to me is important to them, and I treat every case with the utmost sincerity and care from start to finish. With that in mind, I am always straightforward and candid with my clients and offer strategies that are most likely to bring a successful resolution. I am also an excellent negotiator, having successfully resolved numerous contentious disputes outside the courtroom for the benefit of my clients.. Prior joining Beresford Booth, I was a shareholder at a Spokane law firm where I served on the firm’s Executive Committee. I received my education from the University of Idaho, graduating magna cum laude from the College of Law.
