Most people believe that older lawyers are better attorneys because they tend to have more experience. While it's challenging to overstate the value of experience in law, I believe it is often confused with the idea of an individual honing their craft to perfection over many years. Unfortunately, what seems to be the case is many attorneys will learn what they learn at the beginning of their practice and stick with that.. An aspect many people might not consider is if an attorney is not consistently mindful, they may develop an unconscious level of hubris commensurate to their experience. If you believe that you have seen it all and know it all, then why would you ever bother to keep learning?. Law is constantly in flux. With new cases are being decided every day, and new legislation being signed into law by the legislature, it is entirely impossible to stick with what you "knew" while still being an effective lawyer for your clients.. As a relatively young lawyer, I believe I bring something unique to the table. I lack the hubris of more "experienced" attorneys so I am constantly learning and exploring new approaches to solving old problems. With me, you get the energy, drive, and passion necessary to achieve the maximum result in a case.. I take pride in the results I get for my clients. As much as may enjoy crushing the other side when they deserve it, it is often my opinion that fire and blood is not always the best option. Oftentimes, working together with the other side to resolve an issue can be just as, if not more productive. I have never done a mediation that has not settled.. I submit to you dear reader, that when you picture a man tirelessly honing his craft to perfection over many years, what you are imagining is me, or at least the ideal that I hold myself to.. While I spent quite of bit of time minimizing the benefits of experience above, I happen to have quite a bit of it when it comes to employment matters, personal injury, and property damage claims on high-end vehicles. I have achieved multiple seven-figure settlements, litigated class action lawsuits, and have developed a certain specialization in forcing insurance companies to play fair. I love what I do, which is why I haven't worked a day in my life since I passed the bar.

June marked the beginning of my 50th year as a criminal defense attorney.  It seems like only yesterday that I started my career as a deputy probation officer and was going to law school at the same time.  As I look through all my many memories and experiences one feeling surpases all others--I have always loved what I do and I still do.  Helping people in trouble has always given me great satisfaction, and I think it shows in the results I have been able to achieve.  I'm especially proud of my certification as a Criminal Law Specialist by the California State Bar and having been twice selected by Los Angeles Magazine as a "Super Lawyer".

If I am your attorney, you have my promise that I will personally work on your case and give it the highest level of attention possible.  I have an excellent staff, but there are many things that must and should be done by only an attorney.  That is why I am extremely hands on, and I think about my cases 24/7.  My office and I will not only do great work, but we will do it quickly.  No case is left behind.  Because of a slow and congested court system, we file our cases right away, and litigate them as fast as the court will allow us.  Not only does this speed things up, but I find that it yields even better results.  I believe we move our cases along quicker than anyone in town.  However, we also need to consider that some cases take longer to develop, and in those instances a little more patience is necessary.. When I am not working, which is rare, I am playing with my 2 boys, and/or rooting for the LA Kings and Denver Broncos.  And, lest I forget, spending time with my wonderful wife.. If you have a personal injury case, give us a call.  The consultation is absolutely free and there are no strings attached.  I am happy to answer questions or point you in the right direction if I can't help.

I understand that each client has only one case and I make that case as important to me as it is to my client.  I have been involved in real estate projects and entrepreneur-ed successful retail and wholesale businesses. My diverse background allows me to understand the mindset of why clients need an ambitious attorney who listens and takes care of their needs.

I specialize in Estate planning to assist my clients in arranging for a secure future for themselves and their families.  I foucs on creating estate plans that reflect the unique needs and wishes of the individual client, and counseling families in working together to manage elder law issues and asset protection.  I particularly enjoy working with my clients to achieve the best possible quality of life for elderly family members.. I am married, with two adult children and three grandchildren.  My husband and I have lived in Encino for over 40 years.  In addition to my law practice, I enjoy spending time with my family, and my hobbies include gourmet cooking, gardening, photography, and travel.  We have two Shetland Sheepdogs who like to keep me company when I garden.  Prior to becoming an attorney I owned and managed a retail travel agency for over twenty years.  I feel this business experience added an extra dimension to my understanding of estate planning needs, particularly as they relate to small business owners and their families.. My favorite part of practicing law is getting to know the families who come to me for assistance.
