Karina is an associate attorney in JML Law’s Employment Law Department, and speaks fluent Spanish.. Karina graduated summa cum laude with a B.A in History, and a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Sociology from the University of Southern California, completing her honors thesis for both of her B.A. degrees.. Karina earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School. While in law school, Karina served as an editor for the Journal of International Media & Entertainment Law, received recognition for her commitment to academic excellence graduating in the top 10% of her class, recognized on the Dean’s List and received Witkin Award for Labor Law. She volunteered over 500 hours of pro bono work at various legal non-profits, and received the Dean’s Merit Scholarship, the ABTL Public Service award, the Wildman/Schumacher Scholarship and many others. Karina’s externship experience is includes taking part in Southwestern Law School’s Immigration Law Clinic, serving as a judicial extern for the Honorable Terry J. Hatter, Jr., and serving as a law clerk at a defense firm for a year. Karina developed her interest in employment law through externships at the EEOC, and while volunteering at Bet Tzedek’s Wage and Hour Clinic, where she represented workers in discrimination and wage theft cases.. After completing her law degree, Karina served as an ABOTA Fellow, and thereafter focused her practice on representing employees through all stages of litigation.. When not working, Karina enjoys tennis, gardening, volunteering, serving as a member of Bet Tzedek’s New Leadership Council and spending time with her adorable dogs.

Joseph M. Jeff regularly litigates claims for copyright and trademark infringement, unfair competition, false advertising and related claims under both federal and state laws. Manuel Award from the State of California several times for distinguished pro bono legal services.  Jeff has also coordinated attorney participation in Lawyers for Literacy, an annual event that benefits Everybody Wins! Los Angeles, a nonprofit literacy program helping children improve their reading skills and self-esteem.  He was awarded the Lynford Lardner Community Service Award in 2006.. Finally, Jeff has also been actively involved with a number of charitable organizations, most notably the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) since 2004.  Jeff founded and has twice served as a captain of LLS Light The Night Walk teams, to raise funds and awareness for LLS and has been recognized for his outstanding fundraising efforts in the fight against cancer.  In 2013, Jeff was an honored candidate for LLS’s 2013 Man of the Year campaign, which raised over $575,000 in just ten short weeks for LLS.
