Michael J. Williams was born and raised in Wahpeton, North Dakota. He attended North Dakota State College of Science, and received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota in 1976. He attended the University of North Dakota School of Law, where he was president of the Moot Court Association and on the North Dakota Law Review. Since being graduated in 1979, Mike's practice has focused on plaintiff's personal injury and cases involving the rights of people with disabilities. He is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in North Dakota and Minnesota. Mike was elected President of the North Dakota Trial Lawyer's Association (2004-2005) and President-Elect of the North Dakota State Bar Association (2004).Mike is an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fargo. He has been active in numerous community activities, and has spent many hours coaching youth basketball, football and other sports. In 2001, he received the Community Service Award from the State Bar Association of North Dakota for his volunteer activities. Prior to joining Fremstad Law Firm, Lesley represented the State of North Dakota at the Fargo Regional Child Support Unit.  She was responsible for all aspects of paternity, child support, and medical support legal actions,including reviewing existing child support obligations, and, when appropriate, taking steps to modify.  Through her work with the Child Support Unit, Lesley also gained extensive knowledge of residential responsibility (custody) and parenting time (visitation) issues, concerns, and procedures.  Lesley also has courtroom experience in family law cases through her work at the child support unit.. Prior to joining the child support office, Lesley served as a trial court Law Clerk to two different district court judges in the Minnesota 9th Judicial District.  Prior to her most recent clerkship, she was also in a private law practice focusing on family law and personal injury.. Lesley graduated with distinction from the University of North Dakota School of Law.  During law school, Lesley served as the Managing Editor of the North Dakota Law Review and her published case comment  (82 N.D. L. Rev. 1 (2005)) was awarded the North Dakota Bar Foundation Outstanding Note/Case Comment award.. Lesley received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University, in Washington, D.C., where she received a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from the Edmund A. I have had a diverse legal and business career. I was a partner with one of North Dakota’s largest law firms for nearly 10 years. During that time I developed my practice to include employment law, business litigation, and collections. I left private practice to become General Counsel and Vice President of Human Resources for a privately held real estate and venture capital business with extensive real estate and other small business holdings. This broadened my knowledge and experience in starting and acquiring businesses and in the operating complexities of such businesses.. While acting as General Counsel, I recognized the value of this unique perspective as both business owner and business attorney. In 2008 I founded Fremstad Law with a clear focus on bringing this advantage to my clients.. I graduated from the North Dakota School of Law with honors including Order of the Coif and Order of the Barristers and served as Research Editor of the North Dakota Law Review. After graduation, I clerked for the North Dakota Supreme Court and then joined what was then Nilles, Hansen and Davies, Ltd in Fargo. I am currently licensed in both North Dakota and Minnesota and have also appeared before several tribal courts.. I have been active in the Fargo Moorhead Community. She received her undergraduate degree from Moorhead State University in 1989, and was graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1992.
