Pat is an associate in our Fargo office and focuses his practice on civil litigation actions in state and federal court. Pat also has extensive experience practicing in federal bankruptcy court, including numerous adversary actions.. Pat grew up in Fargo and attended Shanley High School. He went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN, majoring in history with a minor in political science. While there, he studied abroad in Greece and Italy and played football for John Gagliardi (NCAA all-time winningest coach). After graduation, he interned in Sen. Kent Conrad’s Washington, D.C. office. Pat graduated from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. While in law school, he participated in the consumer bankruptcy clinic, the Minnesota Moot Court competition, and held a judicial externship. He also interned in the Fargo Public Defender’s Office. Following law school, Sinner clerked for Judge Edward T. Wahl in Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District (Hennepin County), Family Court division.. Pat resides in Fargo with his wife, Erin, and their three children. In his spare time, Pat enjoys spending time with family, reading, cooking, traveling, and learning Italian.

I have had a diverse legal and business career. I was a partner with one of North Dakota’s largest law firms for nearly 10 years. During that time I developed my practice to include employment law, business litigation, and collections. I left private practice to become General Counsel and Vice President of Human Resources for a privately held real estate and venture capital business with extensive real estate and other small business holdings. This broadened my knowledge and experience in starting and acquiring businesses and in the operating complexities of such businesses.. While acting as General Counsel, I recognized the value of this unique perspective as both business owner and business attorney. In 2008 I founded Fremstad Law with a clear focus on bringing this advantage to my clients.. I graduated from the North Dakota School of Law with honors including Order of the Coif and Order of the Barristers and served as Research Editor of the North Dakota Law Review. After graduation, I clerked for the North Dakota Supreme Court and then joined what was then Nilles, Hansen and Davies, Ltd in Fargo. Prior to attending law school, she worked for several years at Microsoft Great Plains Business Solutions as a software support technician and trainer. Her husband is a database administrator. They have two daughters, a rescue cat, and a Great Dane. Caren spends most of her free time cheering on the kids in their activities, especially those long soccer trips, and walking (or being walked by is perhaps more accurate) the dog.
