Before that, he clerked for Justice Carol Ronning Kapsner at the North Dakota Supreme Court.. Nick received his undergraduate degree in criminal justice from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He received his law degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. Nick has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Mary and is pursuing a Ph.D. in criminal justice from the University of North Dakota.. Nick has authored two articles published by the North Dakota Law Review, presented on a number of criminal defense-related topics at continuing legal education seminars, and has taught law-related classes at the University of Mary. Nick is a past-president and charter member of the North Dakota Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Nick also serves as a volunteer assistant wrestling coach at a local youth wrestling club.. Nick is originally from Jamestown, North Dakota. He and his wife have two very active sons. Lesley’s legal practice will focus on all aspects of Family Law proceedings.   Lesley is licensed to practice in North Dakota state and federal courts and is also licensed in Minnesota State Court.. Prior to joining Fremstad Law Firm, Lesley represented the State of North Dakota at the Fargo Regional Child Support Unit.  She was responsible for all aspects of paternity, child support, and medical support legal actions,including reviewing existing child support obligations, and, when appropriate, taking steps to modify.  Through her work with the Child Support Unit, Lesley also gained extensive knowledge of residential responsibility (custody) and parenting time (visitation) issues, concerns, and procedures.  Lesley also has courtroom experience in family law cases through her work at the child support unit.. Prior to joining the child support office, Lesley served as a trial court Law Clerk to two different district court judges in the Minnesota 9th Judicial District.  Prior to her most recent clerkship, she was also in a private law practice focusing on family law and personal injury.. Lesley graduated with distinction from the University of North Dakota School of Law.  During law school, Lesley served as the Managing Editor of the North Dakota Law Review and her published case comment  (82 N.D. Leo F.J. Wilking received his B.A. from Harvard University in 1974 and a J.D. from Fordham University Law School in 1978. He served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Norh Dakota State Tax Department from 1979 to 1981 and as Staff Attorney in the Washington D.C. office of U.S. Senator Quentin N. Burdick from 1981 to 1982. From 1982 to 2007 Mr. Wilking had a civil litigation practice at Nilles Law Firm in Fargo, North Dakota, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. In March 2011 Mr. Wilking started his own firm specializing in employment law and mediation under the name Wilking Law Firm.. Mr. Wilking is admitted to practice in the North Dakota Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for North Dakota, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He has tried cases to verdict in Federal district court in Bismarck and Fargo and in multiple state district courts, including courts in Cass, Grand Forks, Burleigh, Towner, Stutsman and Richland counties. He is a past president of the Cass County Bar Association and a former member of the Board of Governors of the State Bar Association of North Dakota.. Amber graduated high school from Burnsville, Minnesota. She moved to Moorhead to attend Minnesota State University Moorhead, and graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Paralegal Studies with an emphasis in civil litigation, and minors in Communication Studies and Philosophy. Prior to law school, Amber worked for numerous years at a local law firm as a paralegal assisting in medical malpractice defense.. Amber later graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Dakota School of Law. While attending law school, she was a member of the North Dakota Law Review, Innocence Project, Moot Court, and numerous student organizations. Amber had a case comment published in the North Dakota Law Review (92 N.D. L. Rev. 1 (2017)) and earned the highest grade in civil procedure.
