It was a real struggle to find a work-life balance with demanding jobs and a daughter at home.. After a brief stint in real estate, I came to work part-time at Frame & Frame in January 2019, taking a support role at the firm. The talented group of women that I work with is impressive! When they offered me a full-time position as an attorney, I knew right away that I was made for this job and this type of law would fulfill my purpose.. After seeing so much unexpected loss in my circle of friends and family, I was keenly aware of my need to serve in the area of estate planning, elder law, guardianship, and probate. These are all different parts of the same picture; interrelated, but completely separate. It is gratifying to make a difference in someone’s life, especially during a difficult time.. Many people put off estate planning until they are in their “golden years,” but that can leave our loved ones unprepared for the difficulties and expenses that occur, during a crisis. Young families with children especially need to have a plan to raise their kids if something should happen to them. We help take the weight off our client’s shoulders by the time they leave our office. That is truly rewarding.. In my personal life, I enjoy family time with my husband and daughter. I’m passionate about photography and love to travel. Being outdoors with our family fur baby, a golden retriever named Lucky, is a favorite activity and loads of fun!. Mr. Healy began his legal career as a solo practitioner in 1982 and founded the law firm of Richard L. Healy, P.C. in 1991. Over the past 35 years, he has provided representation to thousands of individuals primarily in legal matters pertaining to criminal defense, DWI/DUI and other serious traffic offenses, domestic violence and wills and power of attorney. He is a trial attorney who has received intensive professional training in the art and skills of trial advocacy through the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.. Mr. Healy received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Dayton in 1974. He went on to obtain his law degree from George Mason University School of Law in 1980. In addition to being admitted to all state courts in Maryland, Mr. Healy is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America.. A native Washingtonian, Mr. Healy is an alumnus of Gonzaga High School, a graduate of Bethesda Chevy Chase High School, and grew up in Bethesda, Maryland. Matt lives in Frederick, Maryland with his wife, two children, and dog. Other than being a father, husband, and lawyer, he greatly enjoys hiking and being outdoors. I have over 26 years experience in both DUI/DWI prosecution and defense, including many alcohol-related manslaughter cases.  I work hard to make sure that all possible defenses are explored.  I'm not a stranger to the Courtroom and have extensive Court and Jury Trial experience.  I am especially adept in resolving repeat offender cases where the client is facing a lot of jail time.. I believe that it is important to treat my clients the way I would want to be treated.  I am not just a number or a name on a docket and neither are my clients.  Like me, they have families and jobs and homes, and they need to put this chapter of their lives behind them and return to their lives.  As their lawyer, it's my job to help them do that as efficiently and painlessly as possible.  That means I'm available when they have questions about their cases - not just between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m Monday through Friday, like many lawyers.  My clients can contact me any time they need information about their case.

For over twenty years, she was  a trial attorney with the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, having served in Baltimore City District and Circuit Court from 1995 – 2002, Washington County Circuit Court in 2003 and Frederick County Circuit Court from 2003 – 2017.  Ms. Teahan also represented her agency in the Maryland General Assembly, testifying regularly before committees in both the Maryland Senate and the Maryland House of Delegates.    Ms. Teahan’s practice focuses on criminal and family law matters.. During her career, Ms. Teahan has been a scholarship recipient to the National Criminal Defense College at Mercer Law School in Macon, Georgia, and a grant recipient from the United States Bureau of Justice Assistance, enabling her to attend the Capital Defense Clearinghouse at the Washington and Lee University School of Law.  In 2011, she was certified as a mediator by Community Mediation Maryland and served on the Board of Directors of Frederick County Conflict Resolution Center (formerly CALM).. Ms. Teahan holds memberships in the Frederick County Bar Association and the Maryland State Bar Association.  She is a member of the Committee on Laws and the Criminal Law and Practice Section Council, where she was Chair of the Legislative Subcommittee in 2015.  She is also a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation.. On four separate occasions, the legal community has nominated Ms. Teahan to serve as a trial court judge in Frederick County.   In 2013, she was nominated to serve as a judge in the Frederick County District Court, and in 2016, she was nominated once to the Frederick County District Court and twice to the Frederick County Circuit Court.
