Out of law school I started off in private practice handling anything and everything I could get my hands on. As a young lawyer, I realized I had a lot to learn about practicing law and the business of law. I took an opportunity to work on the practice of law by working at the Gaston County Public Defender's Office for three years. Next, I learned the business of law working along side two great Gaston County Attorney's at Robinson & Lauterbach, PLLC. Now, I am focused on providing you, the client, the best representation at a cost effective rate.. It has been my goal to get to know my clients like family and treat them just as I would expect someone to treat my family. I was raised in Cherryville, NC and graduated from Cherryville High School in 2002. From 2002 until 2006, I attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC on scholarship as a fourth-generation student. While at Appalachian State, I served as a member of the Student Government Association and participated in the Honors Program. In 2006, I graduated with honors from Appalachian State with a degree in Political Science and minors in both Criminal Justice and Business Administration.. In the fall of 2006, I enrolled in the University of North Carolina School of Law, located in Chapel Hill, NC. While at UNC, I argued on behalf of the School’s Environmental Appellate Advocacy Team at the 2009 National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. In 2009, I received my Juris Doctor degree from UNC and passed the North Carolina Bar Examination.. Upon admission to the North Carolina Bar, I served as Assistant District Attorney for Wake County, before returning home to Gaston County in late 2010 to serve in the same capacity. I prosecuted thousands of criminal cases, ranging from traffic matters and DWIs to serious felonies and in 2012, I brought that criminal practice experience to Arthurs & Foltz LLP, where my areas of practice include general civil litigation, real estate, and criminal matters. I am a member of the Gaston County Bar Association and the North Carolina Bar Association.. I am also an active member of my community, serving on the Board of Directors for Gaston County Habitat for Humanity as Vice President and Chair of the Family Services Committee.
