To sum up what I do I will quote one of my clients - I help business owners sleep at night.. More specifically, I counsel privately held companies on their legal and business needs, help business owners identify and address complex legal issues in a practical fashion, with a focus on finding out what they want to accomplish and help them achieve their business goals.  I often act as "in house" counsel for those companies that do not have the need for a full time general counsel.. I believe in partnering with my clients to assist them in growing their businesses and take great pleasure in getting to know their business as I become a trusted legal and business advisor.. I have a mergers and acquisitions practice helping buy and sell businesses, but much of my time is spent assisting owners with everyday legal problems - issues such as drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, analyzing business structures for liability and tax issues, assisting in resolving ownership disputes, drafting shareholder agreements, operating agreements and other commercial contracts, handling real estate matters, debt and finance matters, and similar legal issues.

He then joined the Navy JAG Corps and completed two challenging tours as a First Tour Judge Advocate at Naval Air Station Pensacola and as the Command Judge Advocate for Naval Medical Center San Diego. He now resides in Poolesville, Maryland, with Maria and two beautiful young daughters of whom he is terribly proud.. Robert has known Brian since they were roommates freshman year in Morrissey Hall. Robert and Brian were also fortunate to study abroad together in Dublin during their junior year. Outside the office, I am a mother of a 5 year old girl and 2 year old boy. As you might imagine, they keep me quite busy. I like to work out, run, and, from time to time, I do a little hot yoga even though I am the most unflexible person in the universe. I absolutely LOVE a good book and I'm also a big fan of movies. We attend church at Christ United Methodist, where I used to teach Sunday School to 4 year olds before I became a bit overwhelmed with my own two kiddos.. At work, I practice in the area of civil litigation, including personal injury and wrongful death, premises liability, business and contractual disputes, and insurance claims. I have a special interest and focus on representing crime victims in negligent security and apartment crime cases. In addition, I am frequently involved in working with governmental entities both in litigation and day-to-day management of various legal issues.. Before joining Wiseman Bray PLLC, I practiced at Rainey, Kizer, Reviere & Bell, PLC, gaining extensive experience in civil litigation. My experience at a large insurance defense firm gives me a unique perspective in advancing the claims of our clients.

Firm: Megan H. Wilson, Attorney at Law

Megan House Wilson, a native Memphian, started her legal career working at a small firm in Memphis handling a variety of matters including landlord-tenant disputes, juvenile court matters, criminal defense and divorces. Megan enjoyed her work but quickly realized her passion was representing individuals entrenched in contested family law matters and in 2016 began focusing on serving clients in the areas of divorce, child custody, child support and post-divorce matters. The gratification Megan obtains from assisting her clients in oftentimes the most difficult time of their lives drives Megan to fiercely advocate for them in Court. Never one to back down from a fight, Megan quickly established herself as a rising star in the Memphis divorce bar regularly going toe to toe with some of Memphis’ so called “divorce sharks” and routinely obtaining favorable results for her clients at trial.. While she relishes the opportunity to take unreasonable litigants and attorneys to trial to achieve her clients’ desired results, Megan understands that protracted litigation sometimes only further fractures the family dynamic, particularly with minor children. Megan also appreciates that contested divorce can become expensive, and for that reason, she prides herself on always working closely with her clients from the outset of the representation to determine their objectives, assess the reasonableness of their goals and likelihood of success and establish a clearly defined game plan for moving forward. While some attorneys in the divorce bar plant unrealistic expectations in their clients’ minds, preying on their emotionally weakened state for their own financial gain, Megan listens closely to her clients and does everything within her power to resolve matters amicably outside of court when possible.. Megan brings the same tenacity and experience to her clients who are charged with criminal offenses and has extensive litigation experience representing individuals charged with misdemeanors and felonies in a variety of criminal defense matters. Being arrested or charged with a criminal act can be a terrifying experience, and Megan understands that sometimes bad things happen to good people. Megan also understands that her clients’ futures can be turned upside down if their cases are not dismissed, favorably resolved or result in acquittals. Megan’s clients come to her not only fearing potential jail time or having a black mark on their criminal records, but also fearing that their jobs may be at stake or potential job opportunities could be jeopardized as a result of the arrest. Understanding that the devil is in the details, Megan thoroughly analyzes her criminal clients’ defenses and works aggressively with state prosecutors to poke holes in their cases and expose “reasonable doubt” to achieve the best results for her clients.

Firm: Gill Family Law

Lisa J. Gill is licensed in Mississippi and Tennessee, active in both states, and has successfully represented clients in both states at the trial and appellate levels. She has represented clients in alternative dispute resolution options outside of court including both mediation and arbitration. Prior to becoming licensed as an attorney, she worked as a paralegal providing trial and litigation assistance and assisted in numerous bench and jury trials, both at the state and federal level. She has prior experience in the areas of construction, real estate, business law, and employment law.Her Father was a local electrical estimator and subcontractor. She spent many Saturdays in her youth doing homework in job site trailers and at the local Memphis Builders Exchange (before the days of AutoCAD). Her Father taught her that the difference between good and great is “all in the details.” He could recite entire sections of the NEC from memory and still explain in layman’s terms what it meant without ever once making someone feel less than. She watched him study with many apprentices to help them obtain their master electrician’s license. He acknowledged that getting the details right was powerful and important because it could mean the difference between a safe or unsafe job site or finished job. He defined “servant leader” with his actions. She applies that same passionate dedication and principle to her legal practice. Electricity, like legal issues, are not to be taken lightly. She also inherited her father’s poor taste in puns.Lisa concentrates her practice in all areas of family law, including divorce, child custody/parental issues, child support, termination of parental rights, adoption, paternity and juvenile court matters. Lisa also handles pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and LGBTQ+ family law. Lisa Gill has a passion for complex case matters, including working with families that have mental health and/or addiction issues, asset protection, business valuation, buy-sell agreements, and complex business entity restructuring and/or addressing “workout” issues. Lisa is a small business owner and was one prior to becoming a lawyer.. Lisa’s first priority is to take complex matters and get right to the heart of it early to develop a strategy for a client’s global resolution. Her second priority is to provide strategic counsel with as much discretion as can be afforded to each client’s unique situation. She has personally experienced divorce. She knows that clients want an attorney that aggressively works to reach resolution while offering counsel in a way that allows clients to maintain their dignity.. As a friend’s father once told her, “you must offer the olive branch but, ready the sword.” She takes that advice to heart. She is results-oriented and efficient. She works to resolve matters through negotiation or mediation when possible while also keeping the case poised for trial if negotiations are unfruitful. That is why she gathers necessary information from her clients from the very outset of the representation. She and her team work to ensure that their clients do not have the added anxiety of preparing at the very last minute or being unprepared should their case proceed to trial. Her very first mentor taught her 20 years ago that “unfortunately, nothing settles a case quite like a trial date.” Personally, she believes that Sun Tzu said it best when he offered “The greatest victory is that which requires no battle.” Stil, she has come to accept that she cannot control whether or not the other party acknowledges the truth of that principle. That is why she “offers the olive branch but, readies the sword.”. EducationTHE UNIVERSITY OF MEMPHIS CECIL C. HUMPHREYS SCHOOL OF LAW: Juris DoctorTHE UNIVERSITY OF MEMPHIS: B.P.S, magna cum laude.
