Mark Shields has been married for over seventeen years and is the proud father of five daughters. He is a native of Phoenix and has deep Arizona roots, going back four generations. He is also a third-generation Arizona lawyer. Mark graduated from Washington High School in Phoenix and graduated from Brigham Young University in 1993 with a degree in sociology. Before earning his bachelor’s degree, Mark also spent two years in Portugal as a missionary for his church and working with people of varied backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures. After working for a year or two while his wife finished up her degree, Mark entered the J. Reuben Clark Law School, where he graduated in 1997. Mark’s law school class was ranked seventh in the nation for average GPA and LSAT scores, so he was immediately initiated into a highly competitive environment.. Mark began with Gillespie, Shields & Durrant back when it was Gillespie & Associates in 1996, prior to his last year of law school. Since that time, Mark has practiced heavily in the area of family law and has also had extensive experience in civil litigation, employment law, juvenile law, and insurance disputes.. Mark is happy to report that his approach to practicing law has changed remarkably little during this recession because he has always sought to deliver true value to his clients. Whether the case involves millions of dollars or no dollars, Mark has consistently sought to provide his clients the best service for the most accessible price.. In his spare time, if there is such a thing, Mark enjoys spending time with his family (especially when it’s in the White Mountains), listening to fine music of many genres, building high quality stereo speakers, home improvement projects, and, more recently writing. Mark has published two religious books and hopes to publish more in the years to come. Mark speaks Portuguese and has also studied Spanish, German, and a few other languages through the years.

It has not always been my dream to become a lawyer. Rather, my passion for law developed over time. I knew I wanted a career where I had the opportunity to help families, which led me to initially pursue social work. As I pursued that career path, I realized I enjoyed attending court, and I wanted to be more involved with the families. I knew I wanted to do more.. I began my legal career as a paralegal in medical malpractice, but I had a strong desire to become a family law attorney. Throughout law school, I centered my curriculum around becoming a family law attorney, including completing an internship with a family law judge.. Divorce often receives a negative stigma, but that is not always the case. Many individuals and parents, including my own, were better people divorced than married. It is not necessarily divorce that causes family conflict or stress, rather it is how the parents handle divorce. From personal experience, I know conflict and strong emotions come with divorce, and if parents fail to handle this transition appropriately, the children can suffer in unpredictable ways. One of my goals is to help your family amicably transition through divorce and co-parent effectively.. Divorce can be the most difficult transition you go through, but the end goal is to reach the best possible outcome in a fair, honest, and respectful manner. During my internship with a family law judge, I learned, among many things, that family law issues can be complex. Whether it is an issue involving property division, spousal maintenance, child custody, or any other family law-related matter, I want to help.

I have a pragmatic and realistic approach toward law the practice of law.  Too often the law is used as a weapon and not as a tool.  I strongly believe that people can come through a divorce without having to have rolled in the mud. I earnestly seek to help the parties cooperate to achieve a better outcome than they would have otherwise have achieved through conflict alone.  However, there are times that it becomes necessary to stand up for what is right.  My clients are no one’s doormats. I believe that Fathers and Mothers have a right to be treated with respect and that through everything the children should come first.. --. Haven Lee Dove's childhood was somewhat unusual. He grew up in an Air Force family which gave him the opportunity to reside in different regions of the United States and in the countries of Spain and Japan. These experiences helped him to better understand individuals from different cultures and backgrounds.Lee achieved a Bachelor of Science degree with Magna Cum Laude honors in Political Science from Brigham Young University in 1981. Subsequently, he obtained his law degree in 1985 from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University.. After graduating from law school, Lee was admitted to the Nevada State Bar in 1985 and the Arizona State Bar in 1986. He practiced law in Las Vegas, Nevada for two years before moving to Mesa, Arizona with his wife and two children. Over the years, Lee decided to focus his practice on personal injury accident cases.. Lee’s favorite hobby for the last 30 years has been driving his UTV at the sand dunes in Eastern California and in the mountains of Arizona, Utah and Colorado as often as possible. He and his wife, Cindy, have enjoyed many “hair raising” rides in his Razor and explored too many trails to count. Lee has also ridden and enjoyed several road and off-road motorcycles over the years, including his favorite Harley Davidson.

Glenn D. Halterman is a Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of Arizona. He is a graduate of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Halterman earned a bachelor’s degree in political science at Southern Utah University graduating summa cum laude.. Mr. Halterman was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 2002 and worked in private practice in Cedar City, Utah before accepting a position as a prosecuting attorney for Iron County, Utah. Mr. Halterman joined Ellsworth Family Law, P.C. in November 2006 and was admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 2007. He now specializes in family law matters.
