Jim Whitworth spent 6 years in the United States Marine Corps. The Marines and Navy entrusted him with the responsibility in rebuilding jet engines for the A6 Intruder and the EA6 Prowler for the entire westpac while at AIMD Whidbey Island. In 1992, he became part of the Quality Assurance Certification team required to PASS QUALITY CONTROL TESTS before an engine can be installed and flown, Jim Whitworth and a small team of fellow Marine's stamp of approval was required before a pilot could take flight.. After blinding the enemy's early warning systems with Navy EA-6B Prowlers and destroying critical radar sites with high-speed anti-radiation missiles (HARM) fired from Navy tactical aircraft, Navy pilots flew 4,071 sorties in their battle-proven, all-weather A-6 Intruders, and Marine pilots flew 854 sorties in their Intruders. Because a wide variety of ordnance was used to match speciflc weapons to specific targets, Navy/Marine tactical aviation units put the logistics system to the test. Not counting missiles, allied air forces dropped over 88,500 tons of ordnance on the battlefield. The heavy demand for repair parts was satisfied by the supply system as well. Navy squadrons maintained 85 to 95 percent of their aircraft at a fully mission-capable status throughout DESERT SHIELD/STORM. 27 years later, Jim Whitworth utilizes the same skills in reviewing your repair history and concerns. Call a Marine to assist you with your problematic vehicle, RV, boat or motorcycle. Shouldn't your team be Mission Ready?

I was born in Korea and immigrated to Orange County, CA when I was 5 years old. My father, a gardener for 45 years, who worked this hard job until he was 75 years old, and the most honest, hardworking, and humble man I know, and the man I respect the most, told me... son, we are not rich so I give you 2 years to learn English...then you have to get straight "A's" in order to get into a University on a scholarship. In Fountain Valley High, I had a 4.4 GPA, which got me into UCLA and THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO on a scholarship. I thought I'd like to see some snow. At U Chicago, I was top 5% of my class which got me a scholarship to Washburn Law in Kansas. There, I was ranked #2 in my class. A large law firm usually hires only 1 person from my law school per year. I was hired by Blackwell, Sanders, Matheny, Weary and Lombardi employing hundreds of attorneys. I didn't like corporate law practice much because I rarely shook a client's hand. Next, I worked for the O.C. District Attorney's Office. Criminal Law was interesting but I always felt sorry for the accused who seemed to have lived a hard life with severe disadvantages. Next, I wanted to practice different types of law. I opened my own general practice 21 years ago. Before getting my law license, I worked mowing lawns, painting apartment complexes, laying bricks, digging ditches, delivering heavy furniture, generally eating dust. I know hard work. When I was growing up in O.C. I was the only Asian in my elementary and junior high school. Skinheads beat on me regularly for years; often I would end up bloody because I was that boy who never gave in. Numerous times, I have had my nose broken, my fingers broken, and black eyes. But I learned how to fight. In college, despite maintaining top 5%, I sprinted on the track team, performed in theater with the Black Friar's Club, and played for pizza money at frat houses in a punk band called the Empty Set with my best friends who were all physics majors and now hold high positions at investment banks. I sympathize with the homeless, people who are addicts, and those who haven't quite been able to live perfect lives. Life is hard; the older I get, the more I respect the elderly for the physical and emotional pain they bear everyday. I have borne the pain of a motorcycle accident, snapping my femur in two, breaking my ankle, ribs, and shoulders, struggling in a wheelchair, then a walker, then crutches, then finally walking, then running again. I have had 2 heart surgeries including an open heart surgery where they sawed my sternum in half and pried open my ribs. I do my best to be honest, humble, and hardworking. I sleep 4 hours a day and work very hard. I love to practice law, in particular, creating interesting ways to solve problems quickly and efficiently so that my clients and I can move onto the next battle in our lives.
I specialize in criminal law. I not only studied that as my undergraduate major at the University of California, Irvine but I also focused on that during law school. I worked at the Orange County Public Defender's Office for 10 years where I handled hundreds of cases every month. I have litigated over 40 jury and court trials and won numerous ones. The key to winning is excellent strategy and gaining the trust of the jury to believe in your client. I am an expert in criminal law. I know the courts in Orange County extremely well. I have been in front of the criminal judges and worked on numerous trials and cases directly with the Orange County District Attorney's Office and the City Attorney's offices. I know who your case needs to get in front of to get the best settlements and the best chance of winning at trial. I will make sure your case gets looked at fairly and explore all available options that you might be entitled to.. I also specialize in personal injury law. If you have been in an accident and feel overwhelmed with the legal process, I can help. Not only can I empathize with the physical turmoil you are going through, I can easily walk you through the insurance process. I will handle your vehicle being recovered and restored, your health necessities by working with the right medical team, and any pain and suffering settlements you are entitled to. I will handle all the correspondance with the other party's insurance company so you can focus on getting well.
I represent consumers in arbitrations, individual lawsuits, and class actions when they've been mistreated by companies using unfair business practices or false advertising. We primarily represent clients on a contingent fee basis, so any money we make comes from any recovery we get.. I spent a number of years litigating high-profile technology cases for one of the top plaintiff's firms in the country, so I have lots of experience going up against the best lawyers a big company can buy.. In my free time I write novels as a hobby and I helped fight for romance novelists to be able to keep using the word "cocky" in their book titles.

Amanda’s passion for children and public service began at an early age through her extensive involvement in organizations such as the Girl Scouts to touch the lives of others.. At the age of seventeen, Amanda engaged in an immense multicultural project to encourage an understanding of shared heritage. In recreating an adobe in her neighborhood, she singlehandedly raised funds and planned the reconstruction. Her goal was to achieve an experience and appreciation for children that transcended formal education. For this effort, Amanda was awarded the highest award in Girl Scouting, the Gold Award, receiving honorable mentions from former US Presidents, CA Governors, Legislative Entities and community based organizations.. Amanda’s emersion in public service activities extended through her time at California State University, Northridge while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development. While in undergrad Amanda coordinated and directed a summer camp for underprivileged children and volunteered for organizations such as habitat for humanity, Toys for Tots, Santa Comes to Agoura, and many more.. It was during an internship turned job at CHIME Institute as a special education aide in a full inclusion elementary school class that Amanda’s public service interest focuses specifically towards education advocacy and children’s rights. Working with children with disabilities inspired Amanda to attend law school to advocate on behalf of students with disabilities.. While attending Whittier Law School (WLS), Amanda became a fellow in Whittier’s prestigious Center for Children’s Rights (CCR), participated in specialized curriculum focused on the legal and social needs of children, attended numerous colloquia engaging in pressing considerations of child advocacy, served as director of CCR’s Public Service and Community Outreach committee coordinating many outreach events and participated in WLS’s Pro Bono Special Education Legal Clinic.. Additionally during her time at WLS, Amanda’s Legal Research Paper titled “The Many Children Left Behind the No Child Left Behind Act” was selected for publication and presentation at the Hawaii International Conference on Education in 2012 where Amanda had the opportunity to learn about education systems across the globe and advocate for social change in education.. After graduating with a Juris Doctorate and passing the California State Bar Examination on her first attempt, Amanda joined a small law firm where she advocated on behalf of special education students. Amanda further advocated on behalf of students with special needs during her pro bono clinical work with TACA (Talk about Curing Autism) in 2013 and 2014.. While opening her own special education law practice with her partner Vickie Brett along with their non-profit organization, the Inclusive Education Project, outside the office Amanda coaches children with disabilities within AYSO’s VIP (Very Important Player) soccer team.
After dedicating my practice exclusively to family law matters since 1997, I passed the specialization exam and became a Certified Family Law Specialist in July 2008. My boutique firm is small, and my case load is managed exclusively by me. I do not have associate attorneys who will work on your case. I like to meet my clients in person, obtain the history of their case, and assess their individual situation. My goal is to settle cases where I can, and litigate when necessary. I am a tough fighter in court when litigation is called for. If children are involved, I try to settle if possible, as it is better for the children in the long run, to have parents who can work together. If the parents are at war, the children inevitably suffer. When litigation is the only alternative, I devote my energy and time to doing the best job possible to achieve the desired results. I have been married since 2000, and have two young children, so I understand the demands of balancing a career with raising children. Call today for a free 15 minute phone consultation to determine if I can help you!
