Steven Matthew Laird has been an practicing law since August of 2009. Mr. Laird's practice areas include civil and criminal litigation.  Mr. Laird defends misdemeanor and felony criminal cases, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency, misdemeanor and felony probation violations, DWIs, and misdemeanor appeal cases in both district and superior court.  Mr. Laird also handles absolute divorces, wills, and small claims cases.Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Laird attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for his undergraduate degree. There, he double majored in Political Science and Psychology whereas he received a BA in both of those study areas in 2006. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, Mr. Laird attended Campbell University-Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law and became a member of Phi Delta Phi.  Mr. Laird received his Juris Doctorate in May of 2009 and passed the North Carolina Bar Exam in July of 2009. Mr. Laird is a member of the 4th District Judicial Bar and has been since 2009.

Mr. Castle studied philosophy in his twenties.  After obtaining a Ph.D. in that field from the University of Chicago, he went on to study law at Duke University School of Law.  At the beginning of his legal career, Mr. Castle served as a prosecutor in Onslow and Jones Counties, North Carolina.  Since 2007, he has been in private practice and has passionately represented and assisted hundreds of clients with all sorts of legal matters.  Mr. Castle concentrates in civil and criminal litigation.. As a native of South Korea, Mr. Castle loves spicy food.  He is an avid fan of combat sports.  He himself has dabbled in Tae Kweon Do and Judo.  He is married with two lovely daughters, two dogs and three kittens.

I have extensive criminal trial experience representing clients charged with both misdemeanor and felony offenses. I have civil litigation experience including landlord/tenant disputes, property disputes, contract disputes and business disputes. I also practice domestic law, specifically divorce, custody and separation agreement issues. I assist in busienss development and expansion issues and handle Wills, Estates and Trust and incompetency proceedings.
