After graduating from George Washington University Law School in 1981, I took a job at the Legal Aid Office in Syracuse, where I was a trial attorney for five years. I handled mostly criminal trials, with some general civil work. We were a busy office, helping thousands of clients and litigating cases regularly. I found it rewarding to be able to help others, and to advocate for causes I believed in. I felt that our good work went far in bettering the lives of those Syracuse residents most in need.. In 1986, my wife and I moved to Kingston, and I have been working at Ryan, Roach & Ryan ever since. I've continued to handle trial work and appeals.
