Jeff has worked in both Wyoming and in Colorado as a licensed attorney with private law firms. He has gained experience handling multiple aspects of divorce cases involving property, debt, maintenance, children, as well as national and international enforcement of court orders. Additionaly, he has handled Civil cases, Immigration matters, Criminal Defense, Employment, trust and estate planning and litigation, and Real Estate matters.. Jeff followed a unique path to family law. After high school he proudly served this country in the United States Marine Corps. After honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, he continued serving his country for seventeen and one-half years in law enforcement. Working in these fields, Jeff saw firsthand the impact the law has on businesses and families - specifically children. Jeff wanted a career where he could assist indivuduals going through a legal process. He changed his career from law enforcement to attorney and counselor at law with a focus on the family and the needs of the family as a whole.. Jeff and his family take their desire to help others to the next step. Together they have facilitated a number of charitable events including raising funds and collecting of food for the local food bank, providing support and resources for victims of a major tornado, assiting wildfire victims, and collecting donations for the victims of hurricanes.. Jeff's diverse experience in life, school, and work has prepared him to handle the difficult challenges of the law with compassion and professionalism.

I have over 16 years of experience in civil defense for individuals and businesses, civil rights, contract, business, health care fraud, employment, copyright and trademark law, and compliance with complex state and federal regulations. I litigate on behalf of my clients in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.

I attended the University of Wyoming for my undergraduate degree in Business Administration, and then also for my juris doctorate in 1997.. After graduation from law school, I took my first job as an attorney with Gonnella & Sullivan in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where I worked exclusively in high net worth estate planning.  I left there in 2000 and moved to Las Vegas to pursue a job opportunity with Oshins & Associates, also practicing in the area of high net worth estate planning.. After returning to Wyoming in 2003, I continued my practice in the field of estate planning, but with the increased estate tax exemption amount, I gradually began to diversify my legal practice.. I have been with Nicholas & Tangeman, LLC, since 2007.  I became a parnter in 2015.  My practice area is fairly diverse, and I really enjoy working with many wonderful clients.
