Before becoming a lawyer I spent a little over eight and a half years in the Army as an Infantry Officer where I deployed to Iraq three times before leaving active duty. I am a native Southerner but have lived in Wyoming for over 20 years. I divide my time between Laramie and Jackson, taking cases throughout Western Wyoming. Erik, a German native, studied at the University of Wyoming College of Law. Always eager to obtain hands-on experience, Erik joined the Legal Services Clinic under the supervision of John M. Burman. Additionally, he externed for the Rocky Mountain Innocence Center based out of the University of Utah for two years. While attending both programs, Erik developed a passion for criminal and family law matters. Upon graduating as the Clinic's Outstanding Student of the Year, Erik had the unique opportunity to work as an Assistant Public Defender in Casper, Wyoming. While in Casper, Erik began trying various misdemeanor and high-profile felony cases in the circuit and district courts. Devon grew up in Cheyenne, was the valedictorian of East High, went to Princeton University for a degree in history, and graduated at the top of his law schooass at the University of Wyoming.  After college and law school, Devon travelled to various countries around the world, experienced different cultures, and learned several languages.. His legal career began with a clerkship for the District Court of the Ninth Judicial District with the Hon. Norman E.
