I grew up a few miles outside of Gainesville, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida in 2002. While attending the university, I worked at the Kirkpatrick Center, Gainesville's police academy. My father was a police officer for 40 years so I was a good fit for work at the academy. I continued with the police academy after graduation for several years until I entered law school, attending the University of Tulsa..
