Shawn McBrien has been practicing law since October, 1986 when he was sworn in by the Tennessee Supreme Court. Shawn is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where his father attended law school while located in Lebanon.. Upon graduating and passing the bar, Shawn began his career in Chattnooga, Tennessee. In 1987, he and his wife Karen moved to Wyoming where he passed the Wyoming bar exam and practiced five years before returning to Lebanon, Tennessee.. Shawn has focused his 30-year career on helping his clients with wills, trusts, estate planning, probate, business development, contract law, business and commercial law/litigation, and family law. I want to take this space to thank my wonderful wife and children for all of  their support, which has molded me into the husband, father and attorney that I am today. Outside of the practice of law my family keeps me busy.  Sometimes I think they work me harder than my staff, but I love every second of it.  I can never coach enough soccer games, go on enough dates with my wife, or enjoy too many Cincinnati Reds baseball games on a summer eve.  I enjoy it all and will continue to work hard for my family and my clients.

For more than twenty years,  I have devoted my practice to trial work, specifically work that involves representing and helping families.. Much of my work centers on divorce and custody.  Divorce is a uniquely personal experience.  I help my clients navigate through this difficult time in their lives with dignity, respect, and compassion.. In my adoption practice, I represent adoptive parents, biological parents, and step parents in private and agency adoptions.   For all matters, I help my clients identify their goals and determine how best to achieve them.
