I want to represent honest, hard-working individuals and families who have been damaged by the negligent or intentional wrongdoing of others.  My experience has mainly been in personal injury and accident cases, employment law including discrimination, whistleblower and wages and overtime cases, insurance claims and cases and Kentucky workers compensation cases.  Although Kentucky does not recognize any areas of legal specialty, I know these areas the best, they often overlap and interrrelate in a particular case and it is an advantage to have a lawyer who can cover all these bases.  I invite you to contact to visit my website and contact my office.. I have seen many debtor/creditor dispute situations over my 30-plus year career. It has been my passion to work with my client contacts,  and I have learned about many different industries as part of that process.  It is important to talk face to face with clients, to dig down to the fundamentals, and to work together to create a persuasive message to advocate for their interests.  There are often many other parties involved to work with, as well as being persuasive in court when required.  Over time, I have come to view this process as both an art and a science, and as a way to formulate the story that  presents the best chance to meet my clients’ goals.  “Everything we do falls on a spectrum of options, pros and cons, how it fits in to the big picture, negotiation, and risk analysis. I mostly see lots of gray and multiple choices of how to proceed, usually not a simple black and white answer. It is very important to me to make sure the clients get the benefit of what I see so they can make the best choices for themselves.”. I started at a larger firm where I was an associate and later partner, for 17 years.   I began as a young lawyer doing bank work, but my heart grew to be more passionate about working on  the debtor side of the table, trying to save businesses, or wind them down in the best way possible.    “The early years of my practice are invaluable to me, because I got to both write and argue so many motions in different courts across the Commonwealth, and learned to think about what the banks are looking for in a situation. I learned a lot of law in the process. As a debtor or committee lawyer, being able to understand and work with the other parties is an absolute necessity.”  I  believe in always trying to resolve issues consensually, while simultaneously preparing to go argue the matter in court if necessary. After 17 years, in 2003, I left to start my own firm, and it has been a true learning experience. As a small business owner myself, I have gained an unbelievable amount of insight that big-firm lawyers just don't have.. Outside of the office, I enjoy working in the yard, traveling, reading, and spending quality R&R time with my husband and grown children. I'm currently working on some writing in the hopes of soon going on the road to teach and help others with all that I have learned the hard way.  I'm  passionate about helping our retirees and our young families figure out how to strengthen their personal finances in our current tough economic times, as well as all the looming governmental debt burdens which I foresee as a ticking bomb.   Unfortunately,  I have seen first hand how ugly bad debt situations can be.

I have dedicated my career to helping the legal needs of the disadvantaged. I am academically and professionally involved in the Bar. I focus on New Deal legislation and subscribe to President Franklin D. Roosevelt's declaration that "Necessitous men are not free men." Many American employees are unable to provide for their families due to corporations terminating them without just cause. Similarly, many workers who are deprived of living wages are unable to be free. So, I represent hard working people that have fell victim to corporate greed.

I have been an attorney since 1998.  I understand when people are coming to see me for Family Law or criminal matters, they are going through one on the worst times of their lives.  I believe my job is to help take away the fear of the unknown and provide as much information as possible.. There is so much that goes into the effective representation of a person.  Every case is different, and every one has its own unique set of facts and moving parts.  I will represent you and your situation zealously.  I do not believe in a cookie-cutter system of representation.  I understand and respect that your case is the most important thing in the world to you.. There is not a criminal case I have not handled--from traffic tickets to murder and everything in between.  Likewise, my Family Law practice has seen me handle countless cases of various types and complexities.  Divorce, Separation, Child Custody, Timesharing, Maintenance, Child Support, Domestic Violence--you name it (married and unmarried couples).. My belief is that I will use my experience to inform you of not only the law, but also the process and how/why the system works the way it does.  I will tailor my service to fit your needs.  Armed with this information, you will not feel intimidated walking into a courtroom.. Being in court is the most enjoyable part of the job for me, so if we have to litigate, that is what we will do.  Likewise, if reaching an amicable settlement is in your best interests, we will explore that avenue.  I will always be focused on your best interests and shoot you straight.

I didn't come up with a silver spoon and always considered it my duty to help others rather than just cash in.  I've been blessed that I found my calling so early and was given opportunities from mentors to start handling serious matters early in my career.  This has led to my experience in death penalty cases, serious sexual offenses, robbery, burglary, trafficking, assault, and financial crimes.  I teach defense methods annually to other attorneys including sessions on litigating mental health, constitutional death penalty claims, and jury selection.  Being an aggressive advocate is a joy to me and I appreciate the opportunity to stand between the government and my clients.. I have been married for eleven years and my wife is a photographer.  I have one daughter.  In the limited free time I enjoy I like working on cars, racing, and offroading.
