Top Tier DUI Attorney Matthew J. Ruff has devoted his entire legal career, 30 years, to the area of DUI and Criminal Defense. Prior to starting his work in Criminal Defense he worked in one of the largest District Attorney's Offices in the State of California. This gives his clients an edge by having "inside knowledge" of how his client's case will be prosecuted. He also gives his clients the added "edge" and an educational background in Law Enforcement, Police Science and Administration of Criminal Justice.. Matthew Boasts one of the highest success rates for dismissal in Torrance Court and prosecutions from cities such as Redondo Beach, Hermosa, Rancho Palos Verdes and Long Beach.Put simply, he knows the "ins and outs" of the Criminal Justice system from the police, the D.A. and the Judge hearing the case, giving his clients a distinct advantage when charged with a crime. What also sets Attorney Ruff apart from most other attorneys is the fact that he gives the client one-on-one attention. He is always available to consult directly, never passing his client's off to a paralegal or legal assistant. He believes his clients deserve this kind of respect. He is known in California as a top criminal lawyer, a zealous defender and an aggressive "FIGHTER" for his clients. Attorney Matthew J. My philosophy in practicing law is building relationships. Many of my clients have become my best friends. My longest term client I've known since elementary school--50 years. Another I've represented for 40 years, preparing their taxes even before I became an attorney.. I enjoy wine. Soon I own a winery in Paso Robles named Dark Star Cellars.. I love many sports. I've been a roller dance skating competitor for over 50 years. I've won more than 20 national championships starting in 1969 to date.. Last, I have a passion for reading books, journals, and articles on theology, philosophy, and science. I enjoy discussing these topics with family and friends.

I have argued over 100 cases to a jury and approximately 200 to a court without a jury. Many attorneys have never tried a jury trial.. For 30 years, I have successfully defended many hundreds of clients accused of a wide range of criminal charges — from drunk driving to murder and from first time juvenile offenders to corporate CEOs accused of white collar crimes.. When you retain me as your legal counsel, you get the benefit of my experience in the local courts, and dealing with our local judges and prosecutors.. Regardless of the specific facts of your case, chances are good that I have represented clients with similar cases in the past and prevailed at trial. Why take chances with an attorney who is going to learn at your expense?. What's more, I have been practicing for 30 years in the Greater Long Beach Area, including Norwalk, Downey, Bellflower, Compton, Long Beach and Orange County, so I have a deep understanding of our local justice system, including the various police departments, the judges, prosecutors and juries.. I give my clients an edge in court that less-experienced counsel can't provide. An edge that can be the difference between a successful and failed outcome.. I can help you prove your innocence and protect your reputation, save your job and your freedom.
I am here to be of service and create dynamic shifts in your business, relationships and financial stability.

Ayman Mourad joined Lanzone Morgan as an attorney in 2018. He received his B.A. in English Literature from Whitman College and his J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law School before he began his law career. Ayman revolved his career around the fight for the underdog. Growing up, Ayman wanted to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. Similarly, Ayman looks up to the United States’ 44th President, Barack Obama, for his eloquence and finds his devotion to working for the benefit of others inspiring. It is evident that Ayman dedicates his life to help others. Prior to practicing law, Ayman spent 3 years teaching English in Japan and Korea. Not only did he teach English, but also extensively studied Japanese to better communicate and connect. Ayman has previously worked in the Civil Rights field, including employment discrimination, housing discrimination, hate crime, and disability discrimination.. Ayman is now working in elder abuse because it coincides with everything he has done in life. He went to law school to help people. He admits he likes to help families and victims find even a little bit of justice in the largely unjust system. Ayman hopes to bring all issues regarding elderly care to light, so facilities will operate in a way that protects their residents and changes the system altogether. The attorneys are Lanzone Morgan share this mission with Ayman. Additionally, he wants to learn from partners, Anthony and Jim, and work alongside them for he recognizes “they are clearly some of the best in their field.” The synergy between the firm’s common goal and the opportunity to work with two highly respected elder abuse attorneys leaves Ayman seeing nothing other than working at Lanzone Morgan in his future.
As an adolescent, I was compelled by stories of battles between good and evil, where good had to prevail despite all the odds being stacked against it. The stories would always involve circumstances where good should prevail on moral grounds, but the odds of prevailing seemed insurmountable. David versus Goliath is the first story of this nature I can recall ever reading having this theme.. In 1977, I remember being compelled by the fight of the rebels against the Death Star and the evil Empire where victory of good over evil seemed impossible. Somewhere along the line I was exposed to what lawyers did, and stories of epic court room battles with similar themes as David versus Goliath. From that moment, I knew someday I would be a lawyer representing vulnerable people who were injured due to fraud, oppression, and indifference.. Jim and I created this law firm for the sole purpose of representing not just victims, but victims who are vulnerable targets for fraud and abuse such as children, handicapped, elderly, dependent adults, and unsuspecting consumers. Vulnerable victims are unique in that they generally cannot care for themselves and must rely on others for their well-being. Perpetrators are able to take advantage of this reliance due to the vulnerable victim’s inability to physically or mentally do anything about it.. Sometimes the vulnerable victims acquiesce to the abuse or neglect for fear they will be worse off in the event the abuser is not around to assist them with any of their needs. There is no greater cause as a lawyer than fighting for a vulnerable victim who has been subjected to such outrageous conduct.. Vulnerable victims are often cast aside by society. Despite having laws to deter this conduct, State and Federal governments are unable to do enough to curb the increasing trend of abuse and neglect. When we litigate cases, our goal is to hold the perpetrators accountable for their wrongful conduct and obtain compensation for the vulnerable victims. There has been no greater reward than being the voice and advocate for the thousands of clients I have represented over the many years of practice and holding the perpetrators accountable.. Education: San Diego State University, Bachelor’s Degree in Arts & Letters 1994; Western State College of Law, Juris Doctorate 2001; Pepperdine University College of Law, Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution 2001.. Professional Organizations: Consumer Attorneys of California; American Association for Justice. Licensure: State of California; United States District Court, Central District of California. Notable Cases: Hernandez v. Upland Rehabilitation & Care Center (2004); Morris v. Longwood Management Corporation (2005); Bregni v. HCR Manor Care Inc. (2010); Jarman v. HCR Manor Care Inc. (2011); Washington v. Emeritus Corporation (2012); Cathie v. Mariner Health Care Inc. (2014); Dunkle v. National Therapeutic Services Inc. (2014); Musingo v. Villa Rosa (2014); Walker v.
