Erin attended the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in Louisville, earning her Juris Doctor and graduating cum laude in May 2021. While in law school, she also received the CALI Award and the Leon Seidman Memorial Award. Before law school, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Prior to joining the Louisville divorce and family lawyers at Stange Law Firm, Erin most recently served as Legal Counsel for the Administrative Office of the Courts in Frankfort, Kentucky, managing a dynamic workload to address legal concerns within the Kentucky Court of Justice. Her role included conducting broad legal research, responding to Open Records requests, reviewing organizational documents, and assisting various court departments with legal issues. She also tracked legislative developments affecting the courts and served as the legal liaison for implementing a new statewide case management system. Previously, she was Associate Legal Counsel in the same office, focusing on legal research, reviewing collateral securities agreements, and monitoring civil suits involving the organization. Out of law school, Erin worked as a Staff Attorney at the Louisville Metro Public Defender’s Office, where she represented indigent clients in misdemeanor and felony cases, managed a heavy caseload, conducted legal research, and litigated procedural issues.

Amy grew up in southeast Alabama where she lived with her parents and two brothers. After graduating from Houston County High School in 1993, she received a degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of South Alabama located in Mobile, Alabama. Although Amy always had a passion for helping others, it was during her involvement in student government that she began to become involved in activities where she was able to volunteer with campus groups routinely assisting disabled students. She also spent many hours with Habitat for Humanity.. Following graduation from college, Amy attended Ohio Northern University’s law school. There, she was a member of the Law Review and the William H. Taft Inns of Court. In addition to her regular course of study, Amy also participated in a Mediation/Arbitration Clinic as well as represented clients as a student with the Legal Aid Society in Ada, Ohio.. Over the years, Amy visited extended family in Louisville and always enjoyed the city. After graduating from law school, she moved to Louisville to begin her law career. Amy began her career as a Jefferson County Public Defender and, in 2006, was appointed by Jefferson County Family Court Judge Paula F. Sherlock, and Judge Derwin Webb, to represent parents, on a weekly basis, in cases involving the Cabinet for Health and Family Services (more commonly known as CPS). Amy currently focuses her practice primarily in the area of family law.. Amy is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky and to the United States Circuit Court for the Sixth Circuit.  She is a member of both the Kentucky Bar Association as well as the Louisville Bar Association (LBA).  Amy was named a “Top Lawyer” by The Louisville Magazine in 2013. In 2008, she co-founded the successful law firm of DeRenzo Durrett, PLLC.. Amy has held several leadership positions during her law career.  She was the Vice-Chairperson (2010-2011) and Chairperson (2011-2012) of the LBA’s Public Service Committee, the Chairperson of the LBA’s Call-A-Lawyer Program (2007-2008), the Chairperson of the Kentucky Justice Association’s Domestic Relations Section (2010), and served as the Secretary of the Board for Women In Networking (2017-2019).. Amy also volunteers her time in the community aside from the legal leadership positions above. She has worked with the JCPS Middle School Connection, the Legal Aid Society Divorce Clinic, has been a Board Member for the Northeast YMCA and volunteers with her church parish, St. Margaret Mary. Amy is also a member of The Fillies, Inc. (an organization supporting the Kentucky Derby Festival), a member of the Board of the Franciscan Shelter and serves on the Board for her neighborhood association..
