I was born and raised in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1989. I worked for Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing Company in New York City for two years before moving to Nice, France, where I lived until 1992. After deciding to attend law school, I lived in Budapest, Hungary for six months, working as an English teacher. In 1995, I graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law. I am a former Loudoun County Assistant Public Defender where I represented criminal defendants in felony and misdemeanor litigation for four and half years. I worked as an Assistant County Attorney for Prince William County for a year and a half, representing Prince William County DSS in child abuse and neglect cases. In 2002, I entered the private practice of law, where I remain today, focusing my practice on criminal defense and domestic relations law. I am a former President of the Prince William County Bar Association and am a member of the George Mason American Inns of Court and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. In 2008 and 2011 I was named Trial Attorney of the Year by the Prince William County General District Court. In 2014 I was named one of the "Top 100 Trial Lawyers" by the National Trial Lawyers Association. I am avid hockey and lacrosse fan and play both sports for teams in local men's leagues.
