Prior to attending law school, Mr. McKennett received his B.A.  in Government from Patrick Henry College where he received the Patrick Henry Award for Oratory; the award given to the graduating senior with the greatest achievements in intercollegiate debate and moot court. Mr. McKennett graduated second in his class and also started as the left forward for the Patrick Henry College soccer team.. Mr. McKennett, prior to becoming an attorney, interned for such influential individuals and organizations as the former Senator Conrad Burns (MT), the United States Probation Office (DC), and Judge Kenneth Star. Mr. McKennett is licensed to practice in all Virginia and Idaho courts. His practice primarily focuses on litigation cases involving business, construction, corporate and real estate.. Mr. McKennett lives in Bristow, VA with his wife and 3 daughters.

I was born and raised in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1989.  I worked for Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing Company in New York City for two years before moving to Nice, France, where I lived until 1992.  After deciding to attend law school, I lived in Budapest, Hungary for six months, working as an English teacher.  In 1995, I graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law.  I am a former Loudoun County Assistant Public Defender where I represented criminal defendants in felony and misdemeanor litigation for four and half years.  I worked as an Assistant County Attorney for Prince William County for a year and a half, representing Prince William County DSS in child abuse and neglect cases.  In 2002, I entered the private practice of law, where I remain today, focusing my practice on criminal defense and domestic relations law. I am a former President of the Prince William County Bar Association and am a member of the George Mason American Inns of Court and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.  In 2008 and 2011 I was named Trial Attorney of the Year by the Prince William County General District Court.  In 2014 I was named one of the "Top 100 Trial Lawyers" by the National Trial Lawyers Association. I am avid hockey and lacrosse fan and play both sports for teams in local men's leagues.
