Maureen did her undergraduate studies at UNH – Durham and earned her law degree from UNH School of Law in 1986. Maureen is a frequent guest speaker at legal education programs where she instructs other attorneys in trial, advocacy, and settlement skills.. At age 19, Maureen was elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives where she served for six years on the Judiciary Committee. She remains the youngest woman ever elected to a seat in the state legislature. Maureen was appointed by Governor Jeanne Shaheen to serve as a Commissioner on the New Hampshire Human Rights Commission from 1997 to 2004. Maureen is a founding member of the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association and served as its first President, and served as Chair of the New Hampshire Women's Lobby. She has served on the Board of Governors of the New Hampshire Bar Association and the New Hampshire Bar Foundation.. Maureen was recognized by the New Hampshire Bar Association’s Gender Equality Committee with their Annual Award. She received the Board of Governors’ Award from the New Hampshire Association for Justice for excellent advocacy at the New Hampshire legislature, has recently served as President, and continues on the Board of the association.

I have been representing accident victims and injured workers for over 25 years. My interest in personal injury law began as a result of working as a registered nurse. As a trauma and ICU nurse, I witnessed the trauma that accident victims endured both physically and emotionally for extended periods of time. They often worried about their jobs and how they would pay their medical bills.. After practicing nursing in Massachusetts and New York, I returned to Vermont where my family had lived for many years and attended Vermont Law School. While there, I was offered an opportunity to work in Manchester, NH as a law intern and after graduation, as a practicing personal injury attorne. I  have lived and practiced law in Manchester, New Hampshire ever since. My husband, Jack Walsh, works in the newspaper industry and we have one daughter, Madeline, who is currently attending graduate school at Boston College.. In my free time, I have served on the board of the American Association of Nurse Attorneys, where I was past president, and also on the board of Mount. St. Mary Academy in Manchester. I also have been an active member of the Franco-American Association where I study conversational French.
