She received her Bachelor of Arts and graduated with honors from the University of Northern Iowa in 1999 with a major in Finance and minors in Business Communications and Coaching.. While at UNI, Jennifer played basketball for four years for the Panthers. She then attended Drake University where she received her Juris Doctor in 2002. During law school she interned with the Jasper County Attorney's Office, Polk County Attorney's Office, and with the Peterson Law Office.. Jennifer was one of twenty-five law students nation-wide to be selected to intern for the Army Judge Advocate General (JAG) corps in Fort Stewart, GA. After graduating law school, she entered private practice with the firm of Grimes, Buck, Schoell, Beach & Hitchins of Marshalltown where she practiced for three years. She then joined with Kelly Bennett and Joanie Grife to form the firm Bennett, Steffens, & Grife, PC in September 2005. In 2011, Jennifer started the Steffens Law Office, P.C. which was later renamed Jennifer Meyer Law, PC, after her marriage..
