I have been practicing law for 44 years. The scope of my practice has ranged from insurance defense and personal injury to commercial litigation, collections, to currently and for the past 25 years I have handled probate matters such as estates, conservatorships, guardianships, will contests, muniment of title and small estates. I have also handled real estate matters such as residential and commercial closings, foreclosures, tax sale matters which involve redemption , excess proceeds claims, and Quiet Title suits, evictions for landlords, boundary line/ easement disputes and other title claim matters. I also handle business disputes and have served as a mediator and arbitrator.. I have always wanted to be an attorney. My Father, Jerome M. Hoffman, (may he rest in peace) was a lawyer who was highly respected throughout this community. He was my mentor and instilled in me a strong work ethic which always included service to the community.. I was raised to believe that the profession of law is a noble one of the highest order. He made sure I understood the concepts of respect, dignity and integrity. I strive to serve my clients with those same tenets.. I grew up in middle Tennessee and has lived in Tennessee his whole life. I am passionate about serving the Memphis community and upholding justice within our state.. I received his Bachelor of Arts in History from The University of Tennessee – Knoxville in 2012 and went on to receive my Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis – Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2016.. In law school, Iwas active in groups that focused on Criminal Defense and Pro Bono Public also interned with the Federal Public Defender's Office and various private firms. I also became a member of the Mental Health Law & Policy Journal during that time.. Since becoming a lawyer I have practiced in many different fields such as personal injury, criminal defense, and mass consumer fraud actions. Now I focuses almost exclusively on car and trucking accidents and is committed to helping people who have been injured by the negligence of others.

I focus my practice in the area of complex commercial litigation in both state and federal trial and appellate courts and in alternative dispute resolution forums.  I have represented companies and individuals in a variety of industries on a range of commercial disputes, including breach of contract, business torts and fraud, partnership and shareholder disputes, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, insurance coverage issues, construction law, and trust and estate litigation.  I also provide outside general counsel to companies on matters ranging from drafting and analyzing contracts to pre-litigation dispute resolution.. I attended Vanderbilt University and received a B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science with a minor in Sociology.  While attending Vanderbilt, I was a walk-on linebacker for the Commodores, earning playing time on special teams during his senior year.  I was named to the Dean’s List and the Academic All-South Eastern Conference Team.  I was also elected into a number of academic honor societies, including Mortar Board, Omicron Delta Kappa and Pi Sigma Alpha.  As a Senior, I was named the Vanderbilt University Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.. I earned my law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Memphis School of Law, graduating top five in my class.  During law school, I served as an Associate Editor on the Law Review, with two of his works selected for publication, and was also a finalist in the first year moot court competition.  I received the C. Cleveland Drennon, Jr. Memorial Scholarship (2005-2006), the Law Alumni Scholarship (2006-2007), and the Robert and Elaine Hoffman Memorial Scholarship (2007-2008).  I also received the CALI Award for the highest grade in Civil Procedure I, Contracts I, Contracts II, Professional Responsibility, Law and Medicine, ADR/Mediation and Commercial Paper.. I am licensed to practice law in Tennessee and is admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.  I am also an active member of the Leo Bearman, Sr. American Inn of Court.

I began my practice with Thomason Hendrix right out of law school.  At that time, I handled insurance defense, some domestic cases, and medical malpractice defense.  I stayed home for eleven years to raise my children and returned to Thomason Hendrix in 2004 in a part-time capacity.  My practice is part of a team approach in which I focus solely on defending physicians who have been sued in healthcare liability actions.  My role is to obtain and work with physician experts who will support the defense of the case, to be a liaison with our defendant physician,  to work on discovery and other motions, to work with my team in preparing the case for trial, and to provide office support while my team is in court on the case.  In 2013, Thomason Hendrix merged with Lewis King and became Lewis Thomason and I have continued my practice in this statewide firm.

I am passionate about seeing people treated fairly.  I earned my stripes on some of the toughest cases in Memphis. Glenn K. Vines, Jr., a native Tennessean, was born in 1972. During 1993-1994 he was an All-American football player in college. Prior to graduation, Mr. Vines was a law clerk for Chief Judge David S. Kennedy, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Tennessee.
