As an attorney , the complaint I hear from people most often when they are referring to the attorneys that they have dealt with is that the attorneys didn't return their telephone calls or otherwise communicate with them.  As a result, I always try to return telehpone calls to my clients or respond to their emails to me as soon as possible.  Generally, I get back to my clients in less than 24 hours of their calls or emails.. Email has been a wonderful medium for me to use as an attorney to communicate with my clients.  With smart phones and Ipads, I can return or draft emails while I am waiting in court.  Telephone calls can not be made in that situation so my ability to respond to my clients is dramatically improved by the use of email.. If there is open and ongoing communication between attorney and client, the case goes in right from the beginning and everyone's stress levels are lowered.
