So, a little about me.  I know choosing an attorney is tough, and hopefully this information helps you. I founded LJ Law (formerly associated with Just Law) in 2010  because I saw a need for a different type of law firm.  One that wasn't focused on a make money at all costs mentality.  One that didn't leave scorched earth in the wake of a family law case.  We started a firm where we focus on the family and we try to be settlement-oriented, but still tough when we need to be.  Our flat fee approach ensures that the focus stays on achieving the best outcome using client's resources to their maximum potential.. I have been practicing in the area of divorce and family law for over 20 years.. Prior to starting LJ  Law (formely associated with Just Law), I worked for the Office of Guardian ad Litem representing abused and neglected children, I have continued this work by acting as a Private Guardian ad Litem in cases. My degree in Psychology and training and experience with complex assets, mediation, child development, alienation, abuse and neglect, trauma, domestic violence and personality disorders, makes me uniquely qualified to handle complex cases in a way that keeps client’s and children’s mental health at the forefront.. Laura has personal experience as a step-parent and with divorce. She is currently a single mom and lives in daybreak with her children, her Yorkie/Bichon Frise dog, Lexi, her two cats, Miso & Cedar and rabbit, Meadow.  She has recently gotten back into rock climbing, dancing and mountain biking.  Some of Laura’s favorite places in the world that she has traveled to or lived at include: Maui, Kauai, Rome, Venice, Budapest, Yachats, OR, Arcata, CA and St. George, UT. Laura enjoys canyoneering, coffee, rock climbing, swing dancing, mountain biking, pottery, skiing, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, roller coasters, summer travel camps with large groups of kids, Thai food, road trips, Sunday pot roast dinners, Rook card games, big trees, her backyard creek and yoga.

Jennifer Percy has been practicing family law for over a decade. Jennifer was raised in Idaho and completed her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Psychology at Boise State University, and spent a year studying abroad in France. Jennifer attended Gonzaga School of Law in Washington where she received her law degree. During law school Jennifer was an editor of the Gonzaga Law Review, member of the Moot Court Honor Counsel, president of the Women’s Law Caucus, and worked for the Spokane City Prosecutor’s Office.. After graduating from law school in 2011, Jennifer came to Utah to start her career as a family law attorney. She is passionate about helping families through challenging times. Jennifer’s background in psychology makes her uniquely skilled in working with high conflict dynamics, personality disorders and with other difficult family law situations. She is a skilled negotiator and often helps clients resolve their cases through mediation or settlement negotiations. Jennifer is also an experienced litigator and zealous advocate for her clients in the courtroom. Jennifer has experience in most Utah Court Districts but living in Heber, she has a particular love for the Heber and Park City Judge and Courthouses.. Jennifer is an avid reader and also enjoys cooking, skiing, yoga, camping, and spending time with her family, including her Weimaraner dog, Sapphire, and her cat, Titan.

I have lived in Utah most of my life.  I graduated from Highland High School in 1975.  I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Speech Communcations from the U of U.  I had two children when I graduated from the University of Utah College of Law in 1986.  I had two more children after law school. I love living in Millcreek near the beautiful Wasatch Mountains.. I look forward to assisting you with your estate planning.

After spending 27 years as a full time local government attorney, I now have a part-time legal practice known as Catten Law, P.C.   My practice is limited to elder law issues such as medicaid / long term care / health care planning, performing services as a hearing officer or Administrative Law Judge, and negotiation and/or drafting of contracts and related transactional law.  My "part-time" practice doesn't mean I won't work hard for you - it just means that I don't take on a lot of clients.  Also, I don't maintain a physical office - so I'm happy to meet with you at your home or wherever is convenient for you.  Evening appointments work fine for me if they work for you.  I'll work around your schedule as much as possible..
